I watch a lot of knife reviews. I have never seen your channel. I admit, you do such a great job I find myself engaged even though I have no intention to buy any of these products. You'd make an excellent edc salesman because you have me thinking about buying things I know I don't want. 😂 Great review, keep up the good work.

I have to disagree with you (sorry). I have this, & absolutely love it. It has replaced my Charge+ as my new EDC. It is so small & light you dont know you are carrying it, yet it is still loaded with tools & fully functional, while being just big enough to actually be useful. Pliers are excellent, Knife is sharp & decent enough, & I never had much of a problem with getting tools out. Sure, its not perfect, but it's pretty damn close, & it's the perfect size & weight for what I want. Keychain tools are too small & gimmicky & next to useless, & normal MT's are too big & heavy for convenient EDC, & there is nothing else that comes even close to this many tools for this size & weight. I highly recommend this MT for anyone looking for a small, light, unobtrusive EDC that is packed with tools & extremely usefull.

I agree with a lot of your criticisms, but I still like the SOG Power-Pint for these reasons: It is small, but much stronger than tiny ones like the Squirt. The pliers have the compound jaws, so for the size the grip strength is very good. The knife can be sharpened well and cuts well, the other tools are decent. I use the pliers and the knife frequently, and it fits in my vest pocket. So it suits me!

Idk man. I have one and found the blade to be very workable for the size sacrifice. A bit finicky to sharpen, but it's a scalpel when you do give it a good self sharpening. The reason I got it was because of the size. It also has the tools I use the most which are screwdrivers, pliers, and a knife. The scissors work well enough for everything but fingernails imo but the pliers/cutters are excellent, drivers work great, blades do the job and all the other tools are serviceable for the size sacrifice, but also things I rarely uae anyway. I always carry a few double sided bits on one of those rubber bit strips in my wallet for a few more drivers. Also, some good mods are you can reprofile the tip of the file and make a solid flathead/scraper, and the bottle opener can be ground into a great smaller flathead. I don't mind the can opener as I cannot remember the last time I had a can to open that needed an opener (most have pull tabs now, and I find most canned food to be gross and avoid it at all costs). My main complaint is that there is no bit storage on the tool. Also, the blade is a bit on the thin side. I would rather they sacrifice one of the other tools and made a beefier blade. But overall, I find it to be a very useful little tool and one of the few I can stand to regularly carry in my pocket. Although, if I had to do it again, I may have bought the leatherman skeletool and just ground off the carabiner clip as it has a great blade and it also fairly small. And h It has multiple bit storage spots.

I’m currently a Victorinox guy, but I’m slowly starting to feel the need for a pair of pliers. My Vic has a wood saw and scissors- plus other tools I’m less interested in- which I use for pruning in the garden. But the other tools do come in handy in various ways, so eeeeevery once in a while I find myself wishing it had other functions. But I’m very much a miniature, pocket-carry EDC kind of guy. My primary knife is a Spyderco Dragonfly 2. My flashlight is an Olight Baton 2. I have my Vic as my MT. If you could recommend any other small pliers that are bigger than a Squirt but still function well, what would you suggest?

Thanks for the review. I am looking to buy one of these because I dont have any good tools with me because all of them are WAY too big for pocket carry, and where I live it's not viable to carry anything in a carry pouch or anything like that, it just looks weird and everybody keeps starring at you, wish for me is a no go, so I end up carrying it in my backpack, wish I try as much as possible not to carry because it's way too big and heavy with the laptop. So yeah, a pint sized multitool would be excellent for me. And by your review I can see that any problems with it are easily fixed by the user. My main concern was of fit and finish, that tools would jam or unlock easily. Since it's more about the grind of the edges, one can deal with it (although I agree that it should come ready out of the box)

We both have similar concerns. I have the Leatherman original wave and I find it too bulky to EDC, hence I tandem carry a leatherman squirt P4 and victorinox manager. I rarely use the can opener hence this solution works for me. The new leatherman bond and leatherman curl are slim but still big to make a comfy EDC. The Powerpint in my opinion is just the right size for EDC and can do medium duty tasks that the squirt and manager tandem cannot do for the same footprint. Given the shortcoming mentioned in most reviews including yours. I decided to purchase the powerpint knowing its shortcoming, and I just mod it to make it better and just accept the flaws that cannot be modded. The size factor and convenience to carry is the main selling point for me. Quality is not Victorinox and Leatherman caliber. Not even close. But in my opinion, usable in a pinch for most EDC tasks. It doesn't do the best job, but it will get the job done. My complaints on the Powerpint / soltuions / acceptance 1. The blade - the shape for me is not usable. It is an inverted straight back blade. Where the straight back became the cutting edge and the curved cutting edge became the back part of the knife (blunt side). I wished they just flipped the blade and made it a regular straightback it would make it a proper knife. The blade is also not factory sharp, but again usable. And it can easily be fixed by sharpening it. 2. The pliers The pliers are great, but the wire cutter is crap. For thin 16AWG to 18AWG fine stranded wires, it can't cut in one cut, you have to do maybe 2 or 4 cuts as the wire is so thin it just slips between the cutting jaws. Not fun to use, but still it gets the job done. The squirt cuts in one snip. But the jaws of the squirt is just too weak compared to what the powerpint can do, so still powerpint for me. I don't cut wires often so I can live with it. I use the pliers more. 3. The Bottle Opener For me the shape of this tool is poorly designed, they favor putting a nail pry part to get the tool out. I cut this off and made it flat. This now gives me a pry bar and flathead screwdriver, making this the most used tool I use everyday. I followed the width of the squirt as i find those dimensions very usable. Since the tools clump together when opened, the more you don't need the nail pry part so cut them off to get more functionality on the powerpint. 4. Scissors My complaint is also the same, you can't open the scissors jaws big enough as the spring lever stops it from doing so. I don't expect to use the scissors much because of its design. But still, if you need to cut thread, tape or some other little stuff, it is still more convenient to use this that using the knife. It still gets the job done. So I just accepted its flaws. 5. File at par with the squirt with a much bigger file. So Im okay with this. If this was a diamond coated file this will sure give more points. Can't be compared to a wave file but still gets the job done. 6. Eyeglass screwdriver I love this, no complaints here. I use this for a lot of things. Piercing stuff, open torx head, anything. This is my multipurpose tool. 7. Awl I use this as a scraper for abusive jobs to give my knife a break from this. This things is pointy, even more pointy than the knife. 8. Can opener Never used, but yes the blade is blunt. I plan to sharpen this when i get the time. 9. cutting hook I don't have a use for this yet but i plan to sharpen the hook to supplement the crappy scissors. 10. The bit driver This accepts standard 1/4' bits. That is definitely a super plus for me. I don't use it, but for heavier tasks this is superior even to what the wave can offer. Not built in but you know you have it there. And with a bit extension and bits, you can use this for a lot of stuff In summary, The leatherman wave will do the job best with comfort 3x to 5x better. But with my age now, I don't like carrying the bulk The squirt and manager will also do the job best with comfort 2x better. But it cannot do medium duty tasks or take abuse. The power pint is not the best tool but it gets the job done. And I choose to EDC this because it is the best compromise to what is available in the market right now. So Leatherman, Victorinox, if you are reading this. I hope you make a multitool at this form factor I will definitely get one.

Got one today and overall am pleased with it. I already have a Leatherman wave + and a surge with bit kit and ratcheting driver, the wave in a Vanquest edcm huge maximizer, the surge in a Trident 21. Both are too large and heavy to carry on my person. I've carried a little Gerber dime for a few years and its worked fine for light duty tasks, the package opener probably gets the most use, used it today to get the Powerpint out of the blister package. My biggest complaint with the SOG is that it doesn't have a flat head screwdriver, a huge omission imo. I guess I could just keep a flat head bit in the Powerpint's magnetic bit holder. I really like the size of the SOG and that it has a pocket clip. If it had storage for even one two sided bit, I'd rank it very high.

I bought one for my 10 year old daughter. It seems like a well made multitool. I did see some bad reviews on the can opener. One guy actually got a defective tool, where part of the can opener tool was misssing. The can opener on the one i received is in good shape, but it's definitely not sharp. I'm honestly not sure how sharp a can opener needs to be. My old Leatherman Wave and stabdard Victorinix Swiss Army knives always worked fine. I suppose if it's too dull to open a can, ill just take a file to it. Ny larger concern is that the can opener tool doesn't seem very robust. Of all thetools you need to be oversized and strong, the can opener is the one.

Thanks for the decent review. How much did you pay? Why not mention it? Its currently ~$50 6/1/22. What are the constraints in size and weight of your muktitool? Given the state of the EDC world, your target seems unrealistic. Some people do the Altoids tin thing. Too small for me. But Dime, Squirt, Micra or Minichamp could work I think some SAKs do fit. Saw somebody remove scales to make his SAK fit. For some people it's the pocket thing. Get pocket organizers.Get a Scottevest. Gets heavy. I advocate developing a robust and scalable EDC System. Admin, Water & Snacks, FAK & Meds., Grooming Comb, Breathmints, etc. Some tools Flashlight, Lighter, Electronic (power & cables, cell) Leatherman had a better option with its C & CS Juice series but its now obsolete. But nothing locked. Small pliers were limited. I think you are on the right track but will a good manfacturer make a High Quality Small Multitool? A Juiced up Juice CS4 or XE6? Checkout Swiss Army Evo S557. Otherwise throw in the towel and carry an SAK in your pocket and a fullsize Multitool in your shoulder bag or backpack. Had a colleague former Israeli mikitary who schlepped a 30-40 lb backback everywhere he want. The dude was prepared for everything short of an space invasion. Even then he would survive.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference but in my mind nothing will stand up to a leatherman for straightforward function and unparalleled quality. Gerber mostly living off the name but does have some products that have a place in the market and that I have or would buy. Sog has a few unique engineering functions that can add a lot of value to some people looking to spend less and have a tolerance for a potentially really good tool that could be a dud because of quality control. It’s just the nature of manufacturing in that part of the world quantity over quality but they have come a long way in the last 20 years.

Very strange! Which KZfaq were you watching? Apparently you (only?) found negative opinions about the Powerpint. I too watched KZfaq to find a good EDC multitool and 90% of the reviews I found were situated somewhere between "positive" and "extremely enthusiastic"; so, I DID listen to the reviews, bought a Powerpint, and found that the reviewers were right - it's a great little multitool! [In my country, cans that don't have a "ring-pull" to open them are few and far between - and "fresh" tastes better than "canned", anyway, so I didn't try the can opener and can't comment.]

@@KnifeThoughts If you don't want to lose the wire cutting you can pair the knipex 08 21 145. They can tighten/loosen bolts up to like 17mm pretty well, and I've cut cleanely through 0 gauge wire with them (with a lot of effort), but it's possible; good luck doing that with multitool pliers. They also only weigh 4oz. They are literally the best needle nose pliers you will ever use.

Its small design flaw that can be overcome easily in my opinion, Just push with your thumb more from the clip side.

I don’t get people complaining about opening edge tools and it pulling other tools open staggered that need to be pushed back in with the easiest of efforts. This is done by design because of compact nature. These same people would really be complaining if it wasn’t engineered that way and they couldn’t get the inner tools out. Hahahaha.

To be honest, that geometry is not very good for that, the seat belt can easily bundle while cutting. The ones on the full-size multitool of sog, or the one in the dedicated seat belt cutter by OMP are the correct ones, it's 2 razor blades meeting, kinda like a scissor

These "tools" or EDC pieces of crap are just toys/gadgets for people like us who think they'll look cool to themselves once they finally get the chance to use them. Normal people have proper kitchen can openers in their own kitchen or even just leave one at work if the office kitchen doesn't have one already. Come on, these "tools" are only meant to be used when you're camping or fighting at the front... Or you're an outdoor / construction worker who has no vehicle nor toolbox, which is possible though...maybe? Same thing with top of the line heavy duty multi tools. Real "workers" use proper specific tools. I try hard to look for stuff to fix around me, at home, my kids' bikes, my motorcycle... there was not a single time I wished I had a specific tool in my pocket... I'm a lousy handyman, and have really basic tools at hand, but I got everything I need in traditional tool factor and I prefer use them than my Swisstool, Powerpint or any other MT... Actually, all these were made for kids or teens. When you like to fiddle with things in your room or outside, exploring activities, and you don't need "real" tools. I've never played more with my SAK than when I was between 10 and 16 y-o.

Dude I can totally open the knives with 1 hand and even close them with some practice, so a few minutes in your review and you're already wrong! Of course a Leatherman is a lot better (I've been daily driving a Wave for 16 years) but I've bought this one for when I travel by air or when I don't have a lot of space. Also leatherman has nothing in this size even the skeletool is bigger and doesn't have the amount of tools this has. I have about 30 multitools/swissarmy knives and I still find a time/place to use/carry this too sometimes!
