One very impressive thing is that Sohyang sang this song again this month, and she hit all the same notes the same way, 9 years later, it just shows how healthy her vocal technique is.

I’ve personally never experienced anything quite like what I experience listening to SoHyang. She literally reaches in and pulls the tears out, and I believe every word.

If you wanna cry you should react to her rendition of "Breathe" in the masked singer competition. I don't really care about festivities in general, I try to be myself everyday, but for some people days like this can be a blessing, an escape from reality, you know, a warm moment in a cold life, so Merry Christmas folks

What a wonderful voice. It's just so pure, clean and crystal clear voice. OMG~~~! I am a Buddhist, but I like this song and I think this version of Sohyang is by far the best. This song was my introduction to Sohyang. I had put 'Real Religious Christmas Songs' into YT and this song was the 1st choice. I was amazed. She's like my Spirit Sister 😇♥️ BTW She has done it again this Christmas probably 6 times. I have them on my Playlists. She will be 44 in April, and is still killing it.

A5 is a very very very easy and comfortable belting note for her, her signature note is Bb5, she literally owns it.

I had to watch this twice. First time, I was watching your reaction Julia and I loved seeing your emotion continue to swell until you couldn't hold it anymore. You spoke of Sohyang's masterful control and how it brings the listener in along the journey of the story. So I watched this a second time, keeping my attention to the audience. And I saw what you meant, the crowd was completely engaged. I didn't see anyone playing on their phone and drifting off not paying attention. She had from what I could see everyone encapsulated in the moment, on the edge of their seat eager to audibly devour each note she sang. Wow, what an amazing performance!!

What I have witnessed quite often is that from reaction videos most vocal coaches are almost immediately immersed and become emotional from Sohyang singing.

Great observations, Julia! It appears that you appreciate every nuance of masterful artistry and technique that the artist intends us to appreciate. That dexterity and agility in the upper registers is what sets Sohyang apart from other pop singers. I think Korea is one of the few places in the world that could produce a singer with that sort of versatility that resists genre pigeonholes. If you understood the judges' comments in talent shows, they are always giving critical comments about every minutia of technique. Proper technique, good musical sense and good taste are acknowledged to be important no matter what genre you are performing.

Thank you for this reaction! You're very right. So Hyang is really blessed with that voice of hers. She also never joined any entertainment agency and branded herself as a gospel singer. Perhaps that's also a reason why her voice sounds so angelic. She doesn't do it for money or fame, she got the ability to reach people's souls instead. Really out of this world.

Glad to see you still appreciate the Sohyang, was starting to wonder. If you want 6 for 6 Misty from begin again korea will do it and be different than what you have seen so far. It's staggering what is still out there that will blow you away if it's just these you've seen. Lean on Me, where are you, several from masked singer you just have to see even if you can't see the face. They tend to be different than these others too. One rock, Mona Lisa and home and breathe are stunning. She even raps in Day Day. But seriously, you definitely want to hear the jazzy Misty from begin again korea. It will melt you. One of the best things you'll hear and quite different than the others. Man I just realized no I have nothing yet too. You have so much more utter blowing away to experience yet. All of these are on and above even what you have heard.
