This is the craziest time for me to see this. I swear it’s fate or something because I’ve been thinking about moving. Like a lot. And I wanted to do that to move out of my comfort zone but I’d have to do it by myself and it’s across the other side of the States. Hi, Liz. I admire you pushing yourself to move past and out of your comfort zone and take risks in your life. You get so much more out of life when you try new things, new experiences, new places and people, etc. And, being in Hawaii is one of the best places to meet others and feel welcomed by strangers/neighbors and experience their warmth and hospitality. My dad was from Honolulu and we've always had the aloha spirit in our family, and every time I go to visit my sis, I meet new people by just walking about, e.g., at restaurants, stores, beaches, while fishing, while buying fishing equipment, etc. Stay well and stay happy!

Lady Okie - born/raised in Enid. Retired at 44 here in Seattle but living the RV life to the fullest. Might even cross paths one day - just look for an Okie who is older than dirt, then you found me lol. My friend, there is NO substitute for watching nightly sunsets, staying awake all day and walking till ur legs can't take another step - then you have lived THAT day to the fullest. You definitely have what it takes to live a full life :-)

I too have a permanent owie from a longboard during time living in Tofino, West Coast. But...wouldn't trade it for the world. As well owies from having horses in my life growing up. Keep on -- Keepin' on & just 'borrow-rent-experience' white picket fences and the like until you decide about possible bigger or permanent changes. Truly best life is to venture, experience, continually learn, and be with ones true self without all the turbulent chaos and expectations of others. I am living testament to such as well.

Ok you're on Oahu and that island we call Chinamen's Hat. Looks like you were at Kualou park. I summer camped there as a kid back in the 70s. I don't know where u are today, probably back here in San Diego, but I hope you're having a good time. You are mostly meeting mainlanders. As a local from Oahu w/family still there it is not easy for a mainlander to really mix w/ locals. That's just the way it is. If I was there I would introduce you around but to be honest I really don't like island life, which is why I moved to SoCal at age 20.
