After losing my job to illness and being forced into homelessness, I am finally taking the leap, pooling my savings and getting my first sprinter van on my 29th birthday coming up! I've been researching this lifestyle for years and it's finally coming to fruition! A huge thank you to you for being such an inspiration and wealth of knowledge! ❤️

I’m 57 and dying of cancer. I believe you are doing the right thing at your ages. I traveled the world for business and did all kinds of things when I was young (travel the world ) that would be too difficult in life’s later years. I do miss Siesta Key and my swimming pool since moving back up north where it will be - 24 F tonight. 🥶 I had to be with hometown friends and family.

I'm a solo female living in a van and what I tell myself every time I park for the night is that I'm the only one who knows I'm alone in a van, people outside or walking by don't know if that's a guy, a couple or a family in that van. I have 2 pitbulls that also helps me to feel safer, one is always on alert mode while the other is super chill by my side to let me know we are always ok. I love your videos!!
@Wishwader5 жыл бұрын
Sandra Drury - having dogs for security sounds like a double edged sword. You have to toilet them on a night time which means 1) You're outside the van when you could just be safe inside, 2) Advertising that there's a solo woman occupant if only a woman is ever seen exiting the van with the dogs, 3) If they bark at noises it's not very stealth and shows there's someone inside the van. Dare say the pros outweigh the cons, but two sides to the coin.
@nomadicprepper85945 жыл бұрын
I never said I use my dogs for protection. They are my family and obviously come along everywhere I go. Before you assume how people see me outside walking the dogs, let me tell you that I give them a potty break BEFORE we park for the night. If someone hear them barking, it doesn't matter to me. At this point they also can't assume its a solo female. Thanks for your concern though. I was just sharing my thoughts on what makes me feel safe. Have been full timing for an year now and have never had any safety issues. My point here was to share how safe I feel to other female travelers.

Living in a van, off the grid sounds really cool, as long as you don't live by a river, cause then you'd be livin in a van down by the river.

Never let anyone tell you Freedom to do what you love doing is a bad choice, I think life is more than just a choice of a "normal" career, or path. We never know what door may open as a result of traveling how you want to. It's all a school to learn and find out what is right for each of you/us as an individual.

No one can be responsible for others reactions. Yr all my heroes and I throughly enjoyed yr chat with yr friends. I talk exactly the same. It's easy to see the passion when you all speak and I honestly could have watched you guys for alot longer. You guys are such fun but I'm sure there are the down days too. Having a good life is all about making the right choices relative to who you are. Being highly self aware is essential in this because it typically allows you the judgment to know when taking the leap makes the most sense and when holding back is instead the best thing to do.

The one thing that scared me most is how you said a man came out to where you said you were located. That is insane. I know there are awesome people out there. But there are also crazy people. But make sure that you research areas also. My town has some beautiful areas. My street looks super nice. But I am literally one street over from where a lot of crazy happens. I’m talking someone on meth jumped out of a window of their second floor apartment. But my street is beautiful. I take my tiny dog and child for a walk and sometimes my skin crawls cause I sense eyes.. and we have to turn around and just go back inside. But you can use your senses and you SHOULD always trust your gut. You guys rock. Thanks so much for letting us hear your thoughts. It’s very empowering.

Hi enjoyed the video. The lady who said a family event had her going ahead with van life. I would say she is right. A doctor visit can change your life. My GF of many years had an ear ache and went to the doctor in October -18.. She is a very fit person ,non smoker, on drinker, takes care of herself. She found out that a tumor was under her ear and jaw. Turned out to be a very rare cancer. She has finished radiation and chemo . We will know if it worked in about 3 months. So, if your wanting to do this "Just Do it" .There are many videos to help you. You have the above ladies to help you. As I saw on a decal at the RTR "Video " Adventure before dementia. Safe Travels

Hey, just so you know, only use pepper spray for human defense. Bear spray is actually 10 times weaker than pepper spray. Pepper spray is designed to incapacitate a human where bear spray is designed to just annoy a bear so it goes away.

Success in dating is inter connecting with some one's soul, some one's spirit, some one's heart, some one's emotions, some one's mind and some one's trust and some one's life in a true and honest manner before a true and true physical connection is able to bind 2 people of the same sex, or a different sex for life. That is why true ever lasting love is so difficult to find and keep in today's world. When it comes to love, we all live in a world of fear and distrust, except the people in tinder. I've only read about the composting toilets and most users give positive comments but 6 months seems a bit extreme, lol...that said, I have had the portable toilets and having one of those under my dining table also doesn't sound too inviting if used fully. Much more disgusting to clean! Every option has it's pro's and con's. I imagine you ladies are using them mostly for nights so a lot easier option. You all have very nice vans...enjoy!
