This is THE MOST USEFUL van comparison video you can find on KZfaq. It has all the measurements (unlike all the other videos I've watched) and interviews of people that live/lived in the different vans. Great job, this is such an awesome and educational video. Thank you so much. I TOTALLY subscribed to her channel after watching this video.

Hey girlfriend, so proud of the success you've built with your Channel. Just letting you know I somehow came across you accidentally and clicked due to the keywords "solo female". I decided one month ago to travel in my vehicle but my only companion's were my two little dogs. So many of the videos that I would see would be of cute hippy couples 'all in love' on their journey to freedom. It left me feeling lonely (when I wasn't from the start) and even though I still knew I would carry-on I felt like I was alone on this journey. So glad to know that there are so many other solo female travelers out there. I especially love how you met your ex out and about on a hiking trail from what I hear (previous video). Anything can happen in life and that's what I am about to explore. Anyhow your videos are fantastic. Thanks, much love from Santa Monica California

I just bought a 2018 Promaster 1500 Yesterday!!! low roof, gas, short version, I bought this model because i heard from many vanlifers (who were living in transits and sprinters) that if they had a choice, they go promaster because the walls are square and easy to build out, and the width wouldnt need to be altered to sleep sideways. I need to live in it full time as i work about 20 different jobs seasonally, so i need to carry each unique set of tools and clothing. Im trying to free up some more money to do my storage right, but i need complete storage under, meaning no kitchen or bathroom, just a single layer about half way up the wall right across the whole thing. I cant find anything online showing other people who need that much storage so ill be flying blind.. yay! so excited i have a mentor to follow living vanlife solo. Summerland, BC Canada

I know vans are most common now, especially with the conversions, but I chose a Chinook, a one piece molded fiberglass body on a one ton ford chassis. Chinook's were built from the early sixties until 2005. Their value increases as they get older, because they become increasingly rare and there is no comparable unit out there that I know of. They are 21 feet long, and have all of the amenities, including a fiberglass shower wet bath. Check them out.

Appreciate all your hard work, efforts and professionalism. I am hoping to build, travel & work around Australia. Unfortunately was recently nearly killed in a nasty accident, so am trying to be patient while on the mend so can get back to it. Love the idea of van life. Most of the stuff we have in our lives we don't need. Experiences with people, animals and our environment are way more valuable. It is interesting to see how everyone individually manages van life day to day. We understand life has its ups & downs no matter where or how we live. Would love to see how you manage some of your regular work, some of your travels.

Great video, I am going with the Transit. At 6'4" the Transit is my best option. Rumor is that for 2020 the transit will have the European all wheel drive option plus the 2nd generation 3.5 EcoBoost engine at 385 hp and 450 foot pounds of torque. Some park campsites are limited to 22 feet in length.

Just one thing about the height, if you're going to put floor and ceiling insulation in, the height will be slightly less by a cm or two, but for some people that could make all the difference ;) WE're currently tossing up between a Sprinter and a VW Crafter but we are in the Uk so the van brands are a little different. (If anyone from the Uk has more suggestions we are open to more brand suggestions for our build, we're a while off it yet) :)

Those are the same vehicles along with the MAN TGE. There is also Renault Master, Peugoet Boxer, Fiat Ducato and Citroen Relay. The Peugoet, Fiat and Citroen are again the same vehicle and front wheel drive with a low floor. Then there is the Ford Transit. It's all down to how much you want to spend on the shell and then the residuals. personally, I would go for long wheel base with high roof every time. You just never know.

Hi. Just found and subscribed to your channel. I have the same model Sprinter and the same black color too. I find it gets really really hot in the sun. I didn't want a white van but wish I had picked a lighter color to reflect some of the heat. Some people say it doesn't make a lot of difference but my van gets hot. I'm always looking for shade which kind of defeats the solar panels on the roof. At least on cooler days, I get free heating from the sun.

For what it's worth, the service rep at the Dodge dealer where i service my 2004 Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter once told me that the Promaster gas engines on the Winnebago Trend have a lot of problems. He said the Promaster diesel engine is the only way to go. (This was just a casual conversation where i asked him what he thought of Promasters in general. He wasn't selling anything and I'm sure not buying another van so I tend to believe him since he deals with Promasters repairs all day long.) I would do a lot of research before buying any expensive van.

I looked at all of them and decided on the Dodge 3500 van then added the high top. They can go places the others just can't and fit everywhere. I don't mind the head room at all and I'm six feet tall. I don't spend my days inside the van so I can't see the reason for the extra height. The wind is also a factor, I don't get shoved around in the 3500 like the "Sprinter" based vehical's do. If I were more of a home body I might opt for one. But as I said I am outdoors most of the day and either hiking or enjoying the sights. The last item is the parking, I can stealth park or fit into the average parking space. I've parked in the city and suburbs and I look like any other cargo or work vehicle so instead of "look at me" I'm pretty much passed by without a second glance. That's important to me because my gear and most of my valuables are inside. Have you ever been inside the Nissan Atlas? They have everything and come in 4x4! I will check those out if I slow down and want more of an RV. Thanks for your videos and Happy travels! Beeps.

Turn it on to make those earnings you deserve. Even though it might be a hobby for you, your channel is so professional. I think I wanna trade in my SUV for a van or even mobile home attachment. I'm not completely sure. I currently live in a home but always wanted to just travel around the U.S. as well as other countries. I have lived in my vehicle before but never set it up the way I wanted. My last trip was to Jamaica. I traveled 3 times in 2016 out of the U.S. but before that I had traveled out of the U.S. in 2010 and every year before that. I use to travel once a year but that has changed to once every 5 or 6 years and it's usually for a funeral now. It's pretty sad that I only travel if someone is sick, I am attending a funeral or work purposes so I would like to change that. Your videos inspire me to get out there and do what is best for me. I don't feel like I am enjoying my life and doing what I should do.

The fifth alternative everyone usually forgets even exist is the box van type. That is what I have, a Ford Transit moving van with 4,2m long, 2,1m wide and 2,2m high under the roof totally rectangular box cargo room that even has a lifting backdoor that can take 750kg. The lifting backdoor makes it easy for me to load and unload my KTM dirtbike and electric mountain bike that is stored under the bed at the back. The rectangular box shape also makes it a lot more easy to install interior when you make the camper out of a van ourself.

Great vid and info. Thanks! A good compilation of the important info. I'm 6'-2" and wanting to do a build for a camper (not to live in) so this does help. So, here is a question I'm curious of for ALL those that decided to live in a van full time... It's a bit personal, so apologies in advance and I understand if you don't want to answer but, what kind of monthly budget is required to live full time in a van? I know what our house hold budget is and we've got 2 yrs on the mortgage left, then we're 100% debt free. I noticed you have a storage unit as well, so I know there is a cost there, too. My swag: $600-$800 groceries, $250 dining out, $300 fuel, $200 auto maintenance. So far, that's about $1,600/month. What am I missing?

In the next video I would like to see your daily "beauty" routine (day + night) plus some tips and hints about sun screen stuff and make-up products which won't run off your face during the summer heat. And please tell me how do you keep your skin moisturized even if you go through constant climate changes, like being in your van with a running AC/heater and than getting out in the heat/cold of wherever you may be and than back in the van again. P.S. turn on your adsense! Since you're taking it so serious and providing such great content in high quality is very time consuming, so you "deserve" to make some money.

Ford Transit all the way! I personally have had a great relationship with Ford vehicles. I know their strengths and weaknesses. Dodge... I'm indifferent/neutral on them. I've had mostly positive experiences with Dodges, but I haven't had enough exposure to their vehicles to make me a fan. Lastly, Mercedes... Like you said, they are "expensive". The ONLY reason the Mercedes Benz Sprinter is, quote "expensive", is NOT because it's a Mercedes. It's mainly because it's ONLY offered in diesel. Great video! Ultimately, the buyer should but what they can afford (purchase price, ongoing maintenance expenses, insurance, etc...) and what brand they know/are comfortable with.

The 4 cyl with the 7-speed is the Sprinter to have; be happy you got one while they still made it! Mine gets close to double the fuel economy of the ecoboost Transit. That saved me over $400 in fuel on my last outing. I should add that the van is wonderful to drive.

Great video, thanks for posting. Mercedes has offered a gas engine option for the sprinter in 2007. It was a 3.5 liter v6 which used premium gasoline. Ford has been making the Transit since the 1960s, long before the sprinters and promasters came into existence. The sprinters came into being around 1995 or so. Sprinters are definitely the coolest of all three.

That was FANTASTIC! WOW! More than adequate information. Riddled with answer after answer of questions I haven't even approached yet! Loved it!!! Every second there was another answer to a potential question. Thank you! The footage was perfect. Thank you also to EJ Johnson and Brianne & Lacy of 'The Ladies Van' and Josh, Brittany & Remmi with Gratefulpursuit! Liz what an amazing production! I can't express enough how helpful, professional, interesting and fun the content is! LOVE IT! Thank you thank you thank you!!!! PS: EJ's van is mind blowing!!!! Maybe sometime you can do a tour of THAT van. WOE! The bumpers, lights, interior. Jaw dropping! Maybe my boyfriend would 'get on board' seeing that one and we can get our build on and hit the road sooner. ~mine first though :D Love from PA!

For me personally, as someone who is considering van life with an extensive beauty routine, I would love to see you day to day beauty routine but also what you do on those special day for relaxation. Face masks and your opinion on those types of things. I live in a apartment, so I don’t know what I would do with out the whole bath, bath bomb, candle and that sort of thing so, I’m interested to see what you would do to replicate that feeling or if you do anything like that at all!❤️

Looking at promaster new for two reasons. 1: live in NYC and the front wheel drive will come in handy 2: looking at buying new and they're priced well.

Great summary. Tall? get a Transit. Want to sleep sideways? Get a promaster. Lots of money or want 4WD? Sprinter. You can't really go wrong with any of them. Also worth checking the payloads of each van, critical for a buildout. I'm 6'4" (193cm) so went with a Transit and love it except for the the weight limits, the biggest Transits have the worst payload capability.

Thanks for your amazing videos Mile and of course your beautiful personality that's transmitted through your videos. I wanted to know why you decided to have your kitchen in the back and your bed layout in the front. If you were to do another van build what would you change of your set-up?

I am leaning towards the transit if I purchase new. Videos like this helps to make an informed decision. You should turn on your ad cents if you have reached the watch time hours.

Get yourself Ad sense for sure. For skincare I’m curious about the logistics of taking care of yourself, as well as if you choose certain products because of space or if they can multitask. If you are traveling to areas with different weather (low/high humidity, sunny/rainy) do you have to alter your skincare routine. What do you miss about being in a landlocked living arrangement in regards to your self care routine. And I found the tortillas but they were out of almond so I got cashew and cassava. Can’t wait to try them.
