⛰️ Solo Hiking: The Trinnacle & Dovestone Reservoir, Peak District, UK 🚶🏼‍♂️

Hello folks, have you ever visited or climbed The Trinnacle here in the Peak District? If not I'd highly suggest a visit...but I'm not sure I'd recommend a climb if your legs aren't made for heights! 💩
To get to the Trinnacle, which sits above Dovestone Reservoir (and two other reservoirs), you have a few different route options to get there. I opted for the path that takes you alongside the reservoirs and along the river until you reach the top of the Dovestone edge. And then, this is where you find the gritstone pillars that go by the name 'The Trinnacle' 🤩
Unfortunately I had to turn back half way along this route but I didn't give up and went along an alternative path which led me to the amazing stone formations. As you will see if you watch the video, I once again try and face my fear of heights by climbing upon the tall pillars with sheer drops from every angle! 😳

Theres an awesome scramble up wilderness gully, theres 2 gullies actually, the left hand one is grade 2/3 and is more exciting, but save it for a very dry spell lol. You just head up the service road from dovestones car park to chew reservoir and head down the slope and cross the stream at the base of it.

If you're planning more in the Peak District then the Dragons Back is a must! Chrome Hill and Parkhouse but do it in dry conditions. Tag on High Wheeldon at the start if you're there in time for sunrise 👌 Try the Roaches, hen cloud and luds church too! Still not been up to the trinicle! I try to avoid crowds but it looks lovely and quiet on your footage! Brilliant stuff 👏

I've only stood in the middle of it, but my mates have posed on the top of the trinicle, I've got a photo with one mate doing a crab on one, another mate doing a plank on another and a 3rd mate doing the one legged yoga pose on the third (I don't know what the yoga pose is called lol) you wouldn't get me doing that with my vertigo 🤣

From memory it was about 3-4 hours

Where you turned back you were on the wrong side of the waterfall the path up is on the left hand side

@@welshgingerhoboat the very bottom after you cross the steel bridge turn left there’s some big rocks you can easily cross too the other side 👍🏻 but good video mate great drone footage
