This weekends hike brought me to the Zealand Trailhead. The plan was to go over and hike to Mt Field, Mt Avalon, and possibly Mt Tom, across the A-Z Trail and Mt Avalon Trail. Then to backtrack and camp somewhere along the A-Z Trail or the Ethan Pond Trail and head up to Zeacliff via the Zeacliff Trail the next morning. After Zeacliff, then over the Lend-a-Hand Trail to Mt Hale. Down the Hale Brook Trail and back to my car after a road walk.
The whole trip worked out well, besides skipping Mt Tom from lack of water and running low on time. No biggie to me as I considered it optional from the start. The view from Zeacliff was pretty exceptional and glad to have finally seen it 6 years after passing it up on my AT thru hike in 2017 due to illness.
The hike was about 20 miles total with about 6500ft of gain / descent
