~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the procedure I used to repair my HUMMER H2. This procedure may also repair your heating and air conditioning controls. My HUMMER H2 is still functioning well. Occasionally, I hear the actuator grinding, but it is performing its function. There is no risk in trying this procedure. You could save a significant amount of money and not have to remove the entire dashboard or replace the actuator.
I wish you success with your DIY project. I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to share any questions or concerns in the comments below.
If you have replaced your car battery and the actuator door becomes stuck in the floor blower or the blend door does not fully open or close, this procedure will reset the fuse and recalibrate the door actuator.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Replacement Air Door Actuator - The air door actuator controls the airflow into the vehicle's interior (lower vents, dash vents, defroster). This part commonly fails on HUMMER & other SUV models, resulting in inconsistent or incorrect airflow inside the vehicle. It can also cause air to be directed to the wrong location such as the vents by your feet rather than the vents on the dash or incorrect temperatures.

I paid 2 different people to figure out why my 2006 Hummer H2 was blowing hot air out passenger side vents and cold out driver side and after wasting $400 I found a 3 person who told me he had to remove the whole dashboard to fix it and it’s gonna be expensive ! So I decided to check on KZfaq and found your video and unbelievably I fixed it myself!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!

I stumbled upon a different way to do this with the opposite problem My 2003 H2 wouldn’t give me heat in the dead of winter except on drivers side and was all toasty on the passenger side. What I did was set the thermostat on the driver side to as low as i could set it, I think its 65 degree F, and then just drove it. You could hear the actuator trying to figure out how to cool a car UP to 65 degrees when it was freezing or below outside. Somehow, this resets the computer. Once I heard the vents grinding to change position, about 10 minutes later, I turned the thermostat back up to 90 degrees and it started heating up! This has worked a half dozen times. I used to pull the negative cable off the battery and let the car sit for an hour as the computer settled down but that was just too inconvenient. I did this thermostat trick out of curiosity and mild freezing desperation. I love your channel and I love your fixes but why do you take so long setting up the repair? Is it to get that coveted 10 minutes of viewing for monetization?

Thanks it worked. I did have a few differences, I have a 2005 GMC Sierra crew cab. The part of the chim stops after about 20 sec or didn't happen with me, so I let it chim for about 2 minutes to see if itll quit but kept going. The second difference is that after a hour I was supposed to crank my truck for about 10 sec or so but never would crank. The end results are good though, I got cold air on both side of my truck now. Thank you sir

In the middle of trying this now while waiting on my oil to drain during a change, and nearly every friggin fuse relay was upside down (30/85 on left, 86/87 on the right, looking into the engine/fuse box from the driver's side). This worked but why did you have to remove the engine bay relay and one fuse, then remove the cab fuses, then return to remove the other engine fuse? Could you have removed all engine fuses then return to the cab and remove all cab fuses? I think you can. I think your method is similar to disconnecting the battery and waiting 1 hour but you will not lose previous drive cycle completions.

Easy Steps Hello I tried your steps very carefully three times and it did not work, still only hot air blowing out the front vents only will not change to defrost top vans or floor vents at all just front vents only and blowing 100% hot air, I Found a digital climate controller on craigslist and replaced it and still doing the same thing
@eyeorewolf
@eyeorewolf 5 жыл бұрын
In the front you removed two fuses and a relay, not three fuses. I think you are way over complicating the issue, all I had to do on my wife's 2014 Ford Edge Limited automatic with dual climate control is start the vehicle, set the AC to low and unplug both actuators and they synced right up when I plugged them back in. I think you could achieve the same result disconnecting the battery for an hour on your vehicle then reconnect it and call it a day but I can't confirm because I don't have a Hummer let alone one with an out of sync actuator. Good effort but I think overly complicated for a simple issue. The real question is why hasn't this obvious design issue on these actuators been addressed?

You can check the actual temperature of the antifreeze /radiator with a portable temp gun. Not expensive. If your radiator temp is normal (not fluctuating) but your gauge is going crazy, your gauge is bad. If your temp at the radiator is fluctuating similar to the temp gauge, and you have enough antifreeze in the system, it may be your thermostat is going haywire.
