My wife loves your channel and got me interested. I can solve in less than 5 minutes every time now, with personal best of 3 minutes 9 seconds. The first two layers and the final corrections on corners are pretty straight-forward. Creating the yellow cross, getting the correct yellow edges, and getting yellow corners in correct position feel like acts of faith. I believe!

Soon after I started 3x3 blindfold solving, I would goof it up and wonder what I did wrong. So I used what I memorized to put the cube back into its original scramble so I could retrace my steps again. I discovered the coolest way to get it back into its original scramble was to do the BLD steps in reverse. At first I did that with my eyes open, but later I decided it’s not so bad to do it in reverse with eyes closed.

This is actually one of the first challenges I give to someone who is a cuber. Gives me an idea of how much they understand the algorithms. Now keep in mind I have not delved into the speed cubing realm at this time… I do more pattern cubing and haven’t really used anything but the beginner method. I did fail this challenge like the first 20 (exaggerated estimate) times I’ve tried it. The parts that I find the hardest were working just fine and the parts that I thought were easiest were giving me trouble.

I know i am late, but another fun Challenge is to solve big cubes in "slices" (dont know how to call it) 1. Take a big Cube (6x6+) 2. Scramble by only turning the outer layer 3. Scrable by only turning the outer and second outer layer 4. Repeat till you scrambled the inner layers 5. Solve the Cube using only 3x3 Algorithmus (including the layers)

Im surprised how much your video quality have improved. The creativity, bg music, sound effects, the spirit in your voice projection. TBH if this video is w/o all of those elements, it will be a boring video, as someone like me that doesnt knows blindfolded, this video make me interested in it. Really cool how you can make use of them.

I tried this challenge before. I didn't realize it was an event. My main train of thought was "Okay, wow, I can solve a rubik's cube efficiently now, I guess that makes me a master of the rubik's cube!....wait, no, I can only take a random scramble of a Rubik's cube, and change it to a solved state. I can't take a given scramble and change it to another scramble at will". So I decided to do just that. I originally started using F2L, but realized that it took way too long to find a specific pair of 2 pieces and determine which F2L algorithm was needed to combine them, so after my first F2L pair, I decided to just solve the rest of them with the beginner's method. Also, I don't think I started from a solved state, I think I just started from another scrambled state. In any case, I think the ability to complete this challenge (regardless of how long it takes) means you've truly mastered the Rubik's cube. :)

Video idea: solve a rubik's cube using only wide and M moves

Probably took me like 10 minutes to un-solve my cube to match my scrambled one. Now I'm just gonna leave them both un-solved because it was so much brain-confusion to make them match I don't want to mess up the... scrambled cube. I'm sure people won't believe me if I say they're solved, but they are I assure you they are!

hello j perm. i really love ur videos and because of ur help, i got an AO5 of 25.64 which is not as good as compared to yours but is my best average. i am currently using the yuxin little magic elite M which is really good and really recommend it. anyway when would you do the 21 by 21 solve? i also commented on your previous video to please solve the 21 by 21. ny prediction is 7 hours and 56 minutes and 43 seconds. also please reply on this as you are my most favorite cuber. even better than feliks zemdegs or max park. also my best time is 18.84 seconds. please keep making videos .
