Thank you for this video Tanner. I was just talking to my physio before seeing this, about your videos and how helpful I find them. He first told me about neuroplastic pain and your videos have certainly helped me to understand not just what it is but also to help myself reduce my symptoms. I loved the playful analogies you used here.

I didn't even know other people like me existed, I've been having chronic pain from being in survival mode, not knowing how to stop the pressure in my head. Not thinking I'm damaged helps a lot. I'm glad I found your page the somatic exercise worked amazingly. I've had some of these ideas before like being compassionate to your pain and laughing it off but I've never been confident in them until I saw your video I wish I knew all this a long time ago.. ever since traumatic things happened 5 years ago at 25 I've been living in hell from the pain and the frustration of wanting to stop it but never achieving that goal... ty for giving your time to make these videos I appreciate them so much I'm writing my first comment in 15 years.

Just remember that God/universe/higher power, or whatever you want to call it, doesn't put challenges in front of us for no reason. There's always a greater purpose to what you go through. You will get over it and you will come out the other side a stronger and wiser person because of it. When you are struggling, it can be hard to understand why it's happening. And you can sometimes get stuck. Try to break those thought loops, maybe even with some kind of mantra. Have faith and trust in the process.

It’s not ‘for a reason’. It’s an error in the brain - a hyper-protective maladaptation. Sure. Do the deep work, the spiritual work, and learn to be OK with all things and not stress over everything but to move things along when you have been stuck for years, decades even, do brain retraining such as somatic tracking in combination with Havening techniques and in time the symptoms will pass. The value of spiritual or deep emotional work is that you can come to accept and appreciate the journey - not everting is a loss.

I'm so glad our content is helpful. This is a hard equation to figure out and usually takes some exploring to figure out. It really is a dance between approaching and avoiding. Typically if the symptom or dysregulation is too high it is a good time to use strategic avoidance.

❤ thank you this is the first time I ever did this I just finished reading a book on Symantec tracking I'm not sure if my symptoms are neuroplastic I'm experiencing burning throbbing pain in my lower spine the MRI showed two herniations and two bulging discs it first started in September the pain lasted for 3 months it got better with physical therapy but just two weeks after that I tried a new chiropractor not because I was in pain the pain subsided I just wanted to go for a massage but he ended up adjusting me even though he knew about my herniations and Recovery and He adjusted me too hard and I've been having burning pain since January the 11th I tried Physical Therapy again for 12 weeks but the burning and tightness has not stopped I'm scheduled for steroid injection a week so I just did your video it was wonderful but I'm not sure if this is really structural with the MRI showed or part of it is in my brain do you have any thoughts what I can do thank you

Hi Tanner , thank you for creating this great video. Im struggling with how to do somatic tracking for a leg pain that comes on after 10 minutes of walking and goes from 0 -10 within 10 -15 minutes. Do I do the somatic tracking still? I don't have pain when I sit, or even when Im working out or dancing. Only standing still or walking more than 10-15 minutes. I've healed my lower back pain, my shoulder pain and my toe pain with Dr Sarno's work. BUt this sciatica pain is truly testing me and Im not sure what to do ? Thank you and blessings

Sorry to hear about your pain. This is a good question and can be difficult. I of course can't say what would be best for your case over social media, as I don't know your case fully. Generally it could be cultivating a sense of safety while walking even if there is not pain (messages of safety and mindfulness). Then doing really brief somatic tracking if the pain comes on intensely (if you can tolerate focusing on it). I hope this is helpful.

I have this exact same situation. Can be so frustrating. For now i just really shortened my solo walks. Like around the block and that’s it. I can walk longer with a friend because conversation distracts me. I can dance for longer and do step aerobix for about 4 songs. So i just am doing what i can tolerate and enjoy for now. It seems to ebb and flow.

How to transfer the calm feeling from here to the life out there without somatic videos or sound in the ears ?

But what is the overall goal with Somatic Tracking.. as I understand, it is about not being scared and to feel safe about your pain. But if you cant feel that way out in the big world without sound in your ear.. its like going for a walk with you Mom holding your hand 😅 Of course i takes some time to learn it. But I find it difficult to do outside this little youtube-world. Is there anything you can try to do, to bring the same ease outside om a walk on your own?
@amiscary
@amiscary 6 ай бұрын
@@simonbue4135I get you. I've just started trying to incorporate it into my daily life. Mixed results. I think you just have to keep telling yourself that you're safe when you're doing stuff. That movement is safe. That your brain is misinterpreting safe signals coming up from your body. It's harder when outside. Another trick is to focus on rational brain exercises when outside, such as finding five blue things or five green things or five sentient beings. It distracts the emotional brain. Hard work but keep at it.
