Thanks Dale I think you just answerd my question. on fired snares! 1 Question on pan covers on leg holds. I would love to use the heavy sceen but I cannot get them flat and when you touch them, they move!

Snares in water only in Illinois but I like the idea of using the swivel as a stop for the loop size and close to the animal.

How do you treat your snares?

You can paint or dip them Scott. Or you can boil them in maple or sumac leaves or even oak bark or logwood .

Its funny, tree huggers hate trappers, but every dead beaver save a bunch of trees they can hug. Seriously though, i wish we could legally use snares in my state

Gofyourself y'all need to try to lobby for them to get them legal in your state. They're actually a tool that could save trapping in your state. If they ever decide to outlaw the foothold trap you'll still have something to use. Thank you for watching

Mighty-mini brand fishing swivels are the strongest. They are blackened stainless steel. Even the little ones I fish with are like 200lb test. They make that size too..be about 1000lb.
