It’s looking great Bev! I use a little hand rake , on its edge, to mow down the smalls at the end. Just under the soil. Cause they grow so fast!

Love parsnips ..I let one go to seed every year so I can plant them next year. I've been doing this for about 10 years now. Your garden is really coming along. God bless

Everything looks so healthy in your gardens. I can't say if I ever had a parsnip please when yours are ready to harvest show us one so I can see what a parsnip looks like. And can you describe the taste of it. Good night and God Bless sleep well 🙏❤️🙏

Looks like a carrot.. but it's more of a cream colour than your typical orange carrots. I personally find them bitter in taste.

I agree, and I find the texture really off-putting too - very coarse and mealy, in my opinion. My sister-in-law bakes hers in the oven with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and lots of butter; and they're really good that way. Because ... all that butter! They are an acquired taste I guess.

I weeded my garden and onion patch yesterday ... With my tomatoe and pepper bed i planted them far enough apart that instead of weeding by hand i just till it to kill the weds and it airates the soil and blends my organic fish fertilizer in ... Then i weed by hand around the plants that i cant get the tiller to do because i dont want to hit the plants or disturb the roots by accident ... Its so easy ... I definitely planted more tomatoes and peppers than ill need ... I planted 42 tomato plants most are san marzona and roma ... Then i did 2 beefsteak, 2 supersteak, and 2 super beefsteak ... And 3 cherry tomatoe ... I think they are frarys super sweet 100 ... So im hoping will be a good canning year and i have 11pickling cucumber plants because 1 didnt germinate ... Then carrots, radishes, and Cherokee wax yellow beans ... Ill pick up turnips, zucchini, and whatever else i need from the amish this year and if i dont get enough carrots ill buy some deer carrots this fall and some apples ... And ill get plums off my mothers tree.

Looks great! I mulch my garden with grass clippings. Helps to keep the weeds down and keeps the soil moist
