Excellent review! I have a few folio books myself. This was one that I plan on getting in the future.

Thanks for this review! I decided to get this and the Jurassic Park after looking at your reviews to see if it'd be worth it for me. Now all I need is Martian Chronicles and I'll have all of their Bradbury editions.

Thank you so much Matthew! Those are two of my favorites for sure in their catalog...especially when it comes to the price. I enjoyed my read of Something Wicked quite a bit. I think if you are a father of boy you will get even more out of the story. I enjoyed the father/son growth together in this one. I really like the colors, although the yellow does stick out like a sore thumb a little on the shelf compared to the other books, but on its own it’s most spectacular. 😄

@@rarebookreviewer yes I love the colors! The yellow is a bit bright, but I do love the creepiness of the illustrations. I’ve also tried getting the MR James book you showcased, but no luck so far 😬 basically any creepy horror or sci fi books are up my alley, so I again appreciate all your reviews

This is a great edition and Bradbury's writing holds up very well. The illustrations are very good, even if they take some liberties with the text.

I thought they were fantastic! Can you comment on what liberties they take with the text? I’m genuinely curious because I didn’t catch it when I read the book.

@@rarebookreviewer I'll get back to you on that.

@@rarebookreviewer Not as bad as I seemed to remember. The illustration on 206 had stood out at the time, so i reviewed it and it appears to combine two separate images of the hall of mirrors and the wax museum, which is hardly egregious. It's still an effective illustration as are they all. I do recall it was the illustration of the train that really sold me on the edition. I was very lucky at the time, because I was just coming to the FS (via Planet of the Apes) and I was able to snap up F451 and Illustrated Man as well as the last new copy of Martian Chronicles on eBay. reading FS editions got me through 2020 and reading fiction again.
