You’ve probably already noticed this, but someone will always have something negative to say no matter how well you do things. Regarding Louie, a lot of folks don’t realize a backyard is just another cage. Dogs need to wander and explore beyond their “cage”. As such, your lifestyle is perfect for pets. Not only will your pup have fewer anxieties due to exposure to a multitude of different landscapes, people, and smells, but he will be his healthiest mentally and physically as a result. Don’t listen to the naysayers cause you’re doing great. Love your videos and your travels. Thanks for sharing!

Another good video, guys. I was not expecting to hear "Luna mezzo mare" as a musical cue when you guys first pulled into the park, but one of the most famous recordings of that song was from another "Louie" (Louis Prima), so I guess that works. That song always makes me think of The Godfather. As others below have mentioned, a lot of the people who might criticize you for how you keep your dog leave their own dogs alone at home all day five days a week, even if they have a yard. My dogs had 1/2 an acre fenced in with a dogdoor and both of them would have gladly traded that space to be able to spend almost all day every day with my wife and I, even if it went riding in the back seat of a truck a lot. Notice how happy people's dogs are when they come home at the end of the day, or how happy they are when their owners take them someplace in the car? There's a reason for that. Louie gets that almost 24/7.

Wow, what a rough start to your day! Those warranty stories were scary. How nerve-wracking to have to go through that when you're RVing full time. Good tip for auto leveling. We are in a tiny camper so we have to do all of our leveling manually, anyway, but we like collecting tips for if and when we get a bigger setup someday. Louey looks pretty chill. I think he's enjoying having so many new states to sniff! 😊

I have a rule I go by. NEVER place anything but my feet on the bumper. This, after driving off 20 years ago with my daughters eye glasses on the bumper after she placed them there to shoot some basketball. I've nearly lost hitch pins, etc. from doing the same. I just place them on the ground now.

I have a 2016 Interstate and was freaked out by the issue you brought up with the particulate filter. I always use non-bio diesel and the correct MB spec motor oil 229.52. Was IL one of the 7 year warranty states? Thanks
@IreneIronTravels
@IreneIronTravels 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t reminder if IL was or not, but if you look in the back of the emissions warranty book it should say. Should be a separate manual from the main. The biggest culprits that clogs it is idling your van and short city driving. Big hwy drives are the best!

Ironically we were in the same boat in Cottonwood at the Ford dealership in March and then just outside of Vegas with a split hose after dumping, I was just flushing out the tank. I noticed a very small pin hole with droplets of water. Upon closer examination it was just about to split. Thankfully Walmart was close & I replaced the hose.We are picking up our new ORV 26RKV ~ the 15th. I am in the process of assembling a new Andersen hitch. Tired of the old spring bar WDH hitch we've used for the last 6 years and thought I'd give this a try. Best to the both of you.

@IreneIronTravels 2 жыл бұрын
You’ll love Savannah! Yeah , the tire was a bad deal. It has a slow leak for a couple weeks and we didn’t see the nail on the back side. We discovered it the day before this video and I tried to put on the spare. Couldn’t get the lug nuts off! All the tire shops were closed because it was late Sunday and Memorial Day Monday. It was a risk to drive, but I monitored it with the TPMS. It held air for a week at a time for several hundred miles before we knew it was a nail. I thought It was a valve stem leak at first. Still not a good thing to drive on…. I know. We’re doing a whole separate video on the nail, leak, TPMs, changing a tire, tire plugs, and air pumps. Hopefully it helps someone! 😊

Yeah, it was a tough call. We're doing a video just on the tire, tpms, and air pump. We had the tire slowly leaking for a couple weeks and didn't know the nail was up on the inside tread out of view. It was off the tread and not making contact on the road, but I was watching it very closing on the TPMS. All of the tire shops were closed because it was Memorial Day.... We got it fixed in Savannah... more next episode. Thanks!

I think Louie has a way better life than a dog left in a fenced backyard all day - you are doing great with that sweet pup! I didn’t know Aaron was in the automotive industry. What did he do? Cuz you know my mind has him doing crazy things like making monster trucks! We head out next week - for our big Tennessee trip - I’m so excited! We almost didn’t get to go cuz I had a pretty bad accident in our tow vehicle - fortunately the damage is just cosmetic and it’s drivable - just not very pretty! And we have to wait until September to get parts in! So sorry for your mishaps on this leg of your trip! I get all of my oil changes down at Walmart - the price is always the same ($50-60ish for synthetic) and they have me in their system so I can have that pulled up in any state I’m getting it changed at - and they are usually really helpful with topping fluids and going above and beyond! Anyway - Georgia looks amazing! So pretty! Thanks for sharing! Bunches of love Noelle

Ugh I feel your pain. I just had two things happen to me. I just closed on the house and moved in to the RV over the 4th of july weekend. Good thing I sold to my Niece. I was getting ready to move on Tuesday afternoon and came back to RV and furnace fan was running and AC was on low fan. I could not get the furnace fan to shut off or the AC to go to high fan. Lucky i am just parked in the Driveway until I move. we had some storms roll through and I think I got a surge or something. Had to call a close by Mobile tech because it was late and he could come right then or else it would be 3 days. He got the AC working on High and low and disconnected power from the furnace fan after spending an hour trying to figure it out. even the little switch on furnace would not shut off the fan. Thank god it wasn't burning just the fan running. That cost me $350 for him to come out and when I called dealer next day they said ORV would not pay for a mobile tech and I am out my money on that. Later the next day I was getting ready to move out of driveway and slide would only come in 8 inches then rear side of slide would bind up and stop. I took all weight out of slide and ran it out and tried again about 4 times, same thing. Called the same dealer you used again and they suggested I find a dealer local to look at it and I would have to get it in before I can move it. Well after calling around my area here at home still in Ohio, I found an airstream dealer 40 min away that offered to look at it as they just did a repair on a slide on a different brand and Lippert had a TSB on slides made between October21 and January 22, mine was built end of October. go figure. This was only 4th time I have tried to retract slide. Ugh. Oh well at least I have a dealer close to look at it and I can use trailer with slide in, just loose the tv but have one in bedroom and I haven't begun my fulltime journey yet. Just finished loading to pull out of the driveway and begin. lol. On the plus side I did finish adding 824watts of solar on the roof before i tried to move it. Haven't wired yet as I still need a few components. Just wondering as well how you tied together the wires from the roof and the ones coming up in the access above the bed? I was thinking of putting a breaker there to disconnect the solar and be easier to tie the wires together.

Hello! 👋 we have the Obsidian XL stationary cover. amzn.to/3nSvycI It fits very tight and is a pain to put on and take off, but it fits clean. If you get the transportation model it fits a little looser. We also had the Pro Bike Tool XL cover for our Rad 5’s and that worked well. The new Rad 6’s we have are a little longer.

When we have little problems we just determine the fix and move on. Can't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your journey! You may want to carry a couple of 6 foot long 2x6 pressure treat boards. Much easier to pull up on those than those little blocks.

Though by no means a good thing, the hose self-disintegrating was a kind of roundabout win. It happened after the black tank was drained, and while you were still in range of of store, and while you were leaving anyway. If it burst doing the black tank drain or while you just got there, it would have been more annoying. Likewise, if you were more than a few days travel away from where you could get another one, out on some dusty boondocking trail in Nevada, that would have been more annoying too. The nail in the sidewall is just a bad thing, but one that can hopefully be easily fixed by pretty much any tire shop patch. The ratchet ding on the tailgate sucks too, but eh, as soon as the truck was made it started to decay. On a long enough timescale, everything will get beat up til it turns to dust. The truck just got a minor one in early. Since it is just aesthetic and not functional damage, I think you will eventually think it is not a big deal. You probably have already since there is a record to publishing delay. Some body shop might be able to get it out if it does bother you still, and we all know you'll never leave open the tailgate without making sure the bumper is clear. So even that isn't 100% a bad thing, if you can learn something from it.

Oh boy....Louie continues to grow into being even more cute!! Ughhhh.....thankfully you dodged a big one with it only being gray water leaking out of your sewer hose split. How fun!! Savannah is an awesome city to visit!! I always recommend St Augustine, Savannah, and Charleston to folks. Safe travels!! PS. No fence for Louie.....whaaatttt.....that is no problem at all! Doggies LOVE traveling and getting new experiences. QUESTION : Aaron...with your automotive industry experience, do you carry an extended warranty on your pick up truck now? I was curious to your opinions on that, especially towards ours, which is the 7.3l gasser.
@IreneIronTravels

Yes, we sure did dodge the bad one on the hose! We love Charleston as well, but haven’t done St Augustine yet! I typically don’t do any extended warranties. Back in the Napa days I always had my good shops help me out if I had any auto problems. I also like to do a lot of the work myself if possible. But, the older I get, I value my time more now and don’t mind paying someone else to do the dirty work🤣🤣 So if the extended warranty makes sense it’s not a bad thing…. But you know they make their money by the odds being in their favor! 🤣🤣 I passed when they offered one on our Ford…. I think it was 7 years and 4 or 5 grand. It started after the 3 year factory warranty, so it was really a 4 year. I wasn’t happy giving them anymore money after shilling out the 💵💵💵 for the truck!

@@IreneIronTravels Hi there to you two! Ok.....good to know. Yes...I'm sure they do know the odds and play those all the time on the consumers! I too passed on the extended warranty. I was somewhat sick from the price, so decided that we'll roll the dice when the time comes. Yes...those extended warranties are so misleading; you think you're getting an extra 8 years, but it is 8 years minus the factory warranty. Totally different subject, but wanted to pass it on as I know you two do a lot of desert camping. Here is a flash flood video from Capital Reef National Park in UT. The speed in approaching intensity and water accumulation is eye opening!! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLB_o713xJrGXas.html Have a great rest of your Sunday!

🤣 thanks! I worked for Napa Auto Parts in the twin cities for 18 years! Started right outta high school as a delivery driver and worked my way up to running one of the biggest stores in the region. I got burnt out of management after the years and moved to a sales job towards the end. Where did you work?

@@IreneIronTravels I remember a salesman by the name of Don Sykes? way back in the day. Probably before your time. It was back when NAPA had Parts Pup and calendar's. The good old days. Still have a couple New Britian tools. Again probably before your time. Was in a NAPA store last winter in Arizona and ran in to an old timer and he remembered Parts Pup. Fun reminiscing. Various places but most of my time as a Service Manager at a couple different dealerships in town. I SURE understand the pressure of management. Bet you were a great sales man, wait sales person, wait not sure proper term LOL. I remember the St. Louis Park store being a store and a warehouse. Anyway I will shut up now but like so many folks I love you guys.

That’s great! Yes I ran the SLP store that was attached to the warehouse. It was a monster compared to a regular Napa store, because it had instant access to the giant warehouse inventory. Had about 30 employees and 9 delivery vehicles running around at one point. Burnt me out! When I took over the Stillwater MN store early in my career I found a whole box of parts pups in the attic. Pretty funny to see how times have changed!🤣🤣

Hey guys! On our last trip in our LTV, we drove along the beach roads from Galveston TX to Key West FL stopping after a few hours of driving and parking on the beach all the way around the Gulf of Mexico. Awesome trip. On the way north, we stopped in St Augustine and Charleston… certainly recommended stops, like Savannah. We even caught a rocket launch in the Cape. We boondocked all the way, beach or downtown parking, on our 8000W-hr lithium and 860W solar system! And when I say “last”, I mean it. After 30,000 miles in the beloved LTV, a dealer offered us $25K more than we paid for it! We sold just ahead of the gas price spike! First time I ever made money on something with wheels and a motor…. We’re on to our next adventure, but we still enjoy your channel!
