We recently lost our family tuxedo cat, Zuko, under similar circumstances. As you described your relationship with Gilly, a flood of memories and tears overcame me. My heart goes out to you. Tuxedo cats forever! She crossed the rainbow bridge and is currently drinking bourbon and wine with my best friend on this earth Biggin who passed at 18 years...the memories of them we will carry forever

Vince, why are you struggling with South Africa? I loved your Portugal episode because very similar to Portugal, we are producing some of the best dollar to dollar value wines here and our wine regions are amazing. Come through

Thanks McDonald! I totally agree, and I'd love nothing more! Unfortunately, we operate off sponsorships from local wine or tourism boards. I've approached them, as well as a good handful of independent producers, and we just haven't been able to secure funding to make the episode happen.

Storage: My cellar also hovers around 250 bottles - primarily reds. Currently they're in 4 categories by price - chianti classico to Tignanello- subdivided by country, region. (My taste runs to oddball especially Italian: San Lorenzo, Montefalco, Morellino di scansano...) Rotation is needed when I get a more recent vintage of a favorite, so older is used up first. Better bottles-eg Tig- are flagged to indicate un ready to drink. (I'm not dealing with large quantities in this category, so a lobster elastic near the top works for me. ) I assume that you have a cellar book, which you update regularly. Cellartracker is great to keep track - & avoid too many drink-it-yesterday bottles. Moving toward your 500, you'll need a simple & clear way of flagging cases by estimated year of drinkability, & then drink- by.. Even with only 250 bottles, I may take 2 days to update the cellar book, & much of another to check my sources on when to drink. Your categories probably won't look like mine- you'll find what works for you. Good luck- and enjoy!

I was asking about things like, Pinot -cherry, respberry; Granache - green peppers; sauv blanc - citrus, stuff like that.

Gotcha. Then yes, I'd say the first answer applies. I'd say check out our grape segments in the episodes 👍 Wine Folly also does a good job on her site with this too.
