Less complex does not mean objectively boring. It is simple, but you don't need 13 minute solos and pinch harmonics on every song. Just my opinion as well.

The lyrics and the way RIck Danko sings it makes all the difference. Anyone who have lost and loved can identify.

The Last Waltz version isn't a patch on the studio version sadly, but still this is a great song. I rarely listen to this kind of music either, but this is really impressive songwriting, simple and direct. Classic rock in the best sense of the word.

Hey rhunt we had our differences before but boy do we agree on this one. If you don't like It Makes No Difference from The Last Waltz there is nothing to talk about. RIP Rick Danko

@@rhunt79 Yeah I was the guy who clumsily pointed out I had already mentioned the length of the Last Waltz concert but we probably have a lot in common at least musically judging by our love of The Band It seems someone who likes The Band generally has a certain taste in music....Good taste (lol)

@@rhunt79 Have to be honest they are only my second favorite band. However I happen to think while Danko doesn;t technically have the greatest voice in the world he is the best male vocalist I've ever heard. The emotion in his voice on songs like this or Unfaithful Servant or Stage Fright is remarkable

Kev you are indeed unique. I know at my college and among my friends practically the only Band albums that got played were Rock of Ages Before the Flood (Dylan/The Band) and The Last Waltz.and most of my friends are big Band fans who have seen them numerous times' It always seemed to me they were sharper live than in the studio. No problem with your choices the studio albums are great btwI always thought Cahoots was an underrated album

Perhaps I'm the rarest who listens to all the studio and live albums, including bootlegs and demos. I even have all of the stuff Rick and Richard did.

@@fuchsiaswing8545 unaware of any Richard work except for a live recording or two along with Rick but always felt Danko's version of Sip The Wine was a tremendous cut. Was not a huge fan of Levons solo stuff seemed like basic rock and roll

this sounds like a live version thier studio version is so much better this is one of thier most underated songs and I have been listening to music for 50 years Roxy Music, Passport" Retun to for ever"with Chick Corea Robert Calvert Early Genesis with Gabriel , John Cale Van der graff generator Tangerine dream, early 70,s Brian Eno Brand X Youngster you have no bonafides do judge this song on this particular track or your experience, Oh I left out Mike Oldfield

Haha. Everything about Robbie was annoying on The Last Waltz; even his playing was a little over the top. With that said, I've always loved his tone and phrasing.
