Sonic and the Black Knight was destined for future failure when it became tied to the motion controls of the Wii, but today, I strip Sonic and the Black Knight of its motion controls, and play the game how it was definitely, 100%, totally intended...with a normal controller.

I always remember the motion controlls working REALLY well on this game! I homebrewed my Wii U and plan to revisit this game though, so that Might change. but i remember everything being snappy and responsive, and never having any issues with it. Of course, the game DOES have other flaws though, like it not being clear sometimes ("UNAVOIDABLE, CHIN MOVE!!!"). there was also multiplayer, something rare for sonic games if i recall!

yeah i remember motion controls being actually solid for this game as well! and yes there is multiplayer! i was looking through all of the menus before i recorded and noticed the multiplayer section. never got the chance to play it though :/

I don't mind dealing with the old, gimmicky motion controls of the Wiimote, but with the setup that I have it's very awkward and impractical for me. So I guess I'll have to use a controller after all.

yeah i definitely think that either controller or wiimote works well for this game but if your setup is awkward a controller is definitely still good!

It’s funny how a sonic game can be good if the controllers are not broken. Like free riders and 06. (06 has more issues then just the controllers but still) 3:07 7:45 8:45 I laughed so much when I heard these XD Amazing video btw! You made this really entertaining :D

I never minded this game. The story is honestley underrated too. Secret rings was garbage though.

yes i always had a soft spot for this game based on the story alone but coming back to it i love it so much. Never really played secret rings maybe i’ll see how that plays with a controller…

I am playing Sonic secret ring with xbox controller, it is much better than using the wii controller.

Not sure if you knew, but this game has a fake ending! It does a really poor job of portraying that to the player though, because after you beat King Arthur it just goes to credits and boots you back to the title screen. As a kid, I always stopped playing after the King Arthur fight thinking that I’d beaten the game, when there was actually a whole second half of the game that I hadn’t beaten yet. I’d love to see you play the rest of the game if you get the chance!
