That, and it also is what controls the chaos emeralds. It might actually be a better approach since it gives them a lot of time to build up the chaos emeralds themselves. It’s a smart move if they are looking to make a franchise.

Is it too early to introduce the Chaos Emeralds to the live action Sonic the Hedgehog franchise since this Sonic is just getting to the human world and why he couldn't find an emerald during his stay there for 10 years. I don't know how the producers of this movie are going to pull off the Chaos Emeralds story since who who knows how much they are paying for the CGI for Sonic and his friends?

@@trexadvent4726 Since Tom and Maddie are hiding Sonic, he is most likely not allowed anywhere, especially when Tom and Maddie leave for vacation. Sonic will meet Tails and will then learn of Robotnik, Knuckles, and the emerald(s). Basically, Sonic wouldn't have found or heard of the Chaos Emeralds because he has been in hiding from the government.

I think it's worth noting that the synopsis only mentions 1 emerald. And considering Knuckles is looking for it, it's possible that it might be the MASTER emerald, rather than 1 of 7 chaos emeralds

It's actually like the third one. Knuckles is only in sonic 3 (unless you plug sonic & knuckles into the sonic 2 cartridge) and he's evil, with Eggman wanting the master emerald, but Knuckles realizes that Eggman is using him and joins Sonic's side

I could only imagine how Sonic could react when he finds Knuckles. He might go full rage mode and they have a huge fight. The two starting off as arch enemies, but then slowly but surely getting to know each other more to the point where they become best friends would make for some great character development!

Pretty sure that Tom and Maddie will have shared screen time. But it will give sonic and tails relationship time to grow. As for knuckles being robotniks new ally totally makes sense. Just to remind everyone that the synopsis could change. For instance. The first one is sonic teaming up with Tom to fight the forces of evil, robotnik taking over the world and a lizard villain taking sonics powers to concoar the universe. But that changed. It was sonic is teaming up with Tom who helps sonic evade capture from robotnik who wants his powers for world domination. The details can change a bit.

It’s cool they are making Sonic and his friends more of the main focus. It’s also a nice detail that they are re-telling Sonic 3. Maybe Eggman will use the emeralds to power Metal. Gonna be honest, I love Knuckles and Tails but if Metal is in it would be amazing

After hearing the synopsis, I think that instead of going for a chaos emerald, they will go for the master emerald, which is like a chaos emerald but more powerful, bigger and with its own characteristics, this is because in the synopsis they refer to this "emerald" as unique, not as if they were several, and because in the games knuckles is the guardian of the master emerald, so I think it could go as follows, the tribe of knuckles, for some reason, disappears or dies , so knuckles decides to look for this emerald to revive them, but in the end when he sees its true power and how dangerous it can be, he decides to hide it and protect it so that it does not end up in the wrong hands, that is my little theory

It's not going to be Shadow because what made Shadow popular and beloved in the first place was his backstory in SA2. I don't mind change for the stake of the general audience but you're going to get rid of the fundamentals of what made his character so recognizable in the first place It makes more sense for it to be Metal Sonic as that's the copy of Sonic that Eggman DID develop.. This is what I do personally if I brought Shadow into the films. In the games we don't really have much info on Eggman and Gerald's relationship so maybe we can take the context of Eggman being an orphan literally with Gerald Robotink (to non-fans Eggman's Grandfather) pretty much disowning Eggman as a legit grandson as they aren't blood related and have him pretty much favorite Maria (Eggman's cousin). Gerald was doing a couple of research and discovered Sonic's world - maybe somehow visiting there.. He later interact with the Echidna Clan learning about their culture and finds a mural where it reveals a prophecy of the legendary Ultimate Lifeform. Gerald returns to Earth and with the knowledge he gained used it as inspiration of creating Shadow.
