I’m Very Excited for This Movie I’m a HugeSonic Fan and a Huge 3c films fan aswell

I feel like there may be a clue as to who sent Tails from a couple of things that were said and shown in the movie. First off, Sonic said to Tom that rings were how all advanced cultures traveled through worlds, so presumably since Tails was using a ring he therefore comes from an advanced culture. The fact Tails had modern looking shoes and was using what looked to be an advanced tracking device also backs this up. Secondly, when you look at the Echidna tribe, what they were wearing and the weapons they were using, they seemed to come from a more primitive background compared to Tails. Their shoes were more basic and they didn't seem to have any electronic devices or weapons. The same goes for the residence of Sonic, there seemed to be no electricity and it looked like a more primitive architecture than compared to what you'd find on earth, not more advanced. So looking at this, the fact Sonic said rings were used by advanced cultures, presumably meaning more advanced than what you'd find on earth since earthlings don't have rings, the fact Longclaw had possession of rings and knew about other worlds, the fact several worlds on Sonic's map of worlds were crossed out already, all this suggests Longclaw was not from that island originally, and that since we never see Sonic's parents there's a decent chance the same is true for Sonic, and that their location on the island was due to Longclaw wanting to hide Sonic from power hungry civilizations on other worlds that would take advantage of Sonic. In other words, it's very possible Sonic and Longclaw had a history of jumping from planet to planet searching for that safe spot already, and neither of the two are from the island world. Perhaps the sequel will explain this and more of Sonic's backstory. Getting back to where Tails came from, I think it's likely since Tails was looking for Sonic presumably he had Sonic's energy signature loaded onto his device. Perhaps Tails found out about Sonic from others who knew of him with his history on other worlds, and people knew of his great power. I would imagine Tails is tracking Sonic down for one of two reasons, either to warn Sonic that a new enemy is soon to be on the way, perhaps one more formidable and advanced than the Echidna tribe, or that Tails needs Sonic's tremendous power to help with a problem Tails is having on his own world, possibly related to Eggman or perhaps the Echidna tribe. That would be my guess.

Probably robotnik discovered the chaos emeralds and sonic's planet was under meneace and because of that tails went after sonic

Either, Dr Robotnik has built technology, and has gone to Sonic’s Home World, hoping that there are more like him. He then captures and robotisizes everyone on Green Hills, and Turns them into his New Army. Long Claw(Who is alive) knows that Only Sonic can stop him. So she, Tails and Knuckles travel to Earth to find Sonic. And with the help of Sonic, and Doughnut Lord(Just because), they attempt to stop Robotnik, and save Green Hills. OR Robotnik Tricks Knuckles into believing that Sonic is evil. So Knuckles helps Robotnik find Sonic. And Tails helps Sonic.

Knuckles is going to have a bad story where he had his entire Echidna Drive but three survived and Knuckles meme to Angel Island that was Knuckles tragic story coming to Earth

Ok Cris my take is... Robotnok is playing everyone mentioned here to get home and get revenge here. Tails is an orphan which means that Longclaw survived he could’ve raised Tails which is he could bond with Sonic and be looking for him. Robotnik tricks them into believing he just wants to get back to Earth. But he plans to deliver Sonic to the Echidnas which brings Knuckles into things. Either here or or in part 3 as if they make Knuckles the lone survivor Robotnik could use him for another revenge plot in Part 3.

I would love for them for the second movie to do a sort of adaptation of Sonic Adventure 1 with the echidna tribe and Chaos...kinda like how Sonic X adapted it by having the same story but adjusting it to fit the universe. Plus we could have Crush 40 with Open Your Heart.

Well, all those theories sound really good, especially Longclaw sending Tails, though, one theory I have is Amy. Amy is the one character that’s always had a love affection for Sonic, even from the early years of the games. If they’re going to bring any characters that already know Sonic through the games, I hope one they bring back is Amy, just to see how the creators would handle Sonic with Amy’s love for him

Also, I'm sure that out of all of the theories that Chris pointed out, the most plausible choice HAS to be Longclaw! It makes alot more sense in the grand scheme of things, and it's a good way to give us more info about Longclaw and bring us more character development

I wish that in Sonic 2 that Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy battle Dr Robotnic and shadow. That is my wish in a fight scene or the big final battle like Avengers Endgame.

Here is my theory:Tails knows about sonic since the first movie but it was never shown.After Longclaw got hit with the arrow at the beginning of the movie, 1 or 2 rings fell out of the bag and heard what Longclaw says to Sonic.Tails doesn't know what world/dimension Sonic went to,so over the years he gets really good with technology and finds out were Sonic is.That is where we see him at the end of the movie. IF I'm wrong, then Longclaw sent Tails confirmed.

I think Sonic's parents or Longclaw if not dead sent Tails because they knew that Shadow is coming for Sonic. That's why Tails said "I just hope it's not too late" because maybe Shadow threatened Sonic's parents or Longclaw saying that he will kill Sonic. Shadow left,then Tails went after Shadow but he disappeared then Tails arrived on Earth and says "I just hope i am not too late" (just a theory)

When Longclaw originally opened the portal to Earth, she described it as "a planet ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE UNIVERSE". Which means that Sonic's homeworld and Earth are clearly on the same plane of reality/existence.

Chris I have a Theory:so when sonic leaves through the portal to earth long claw takes down one of the hunters the others expecting her to kill him but she lets him go screeching , telling them they should leave after the hunters fled long claw hears a small cry looks near a tree and finds a small knuckles, deciding to take care of the child she trains him for anything hoping to avoid another situation like sonic while doing so a small fox falls through the window having no idea where he came from or how he fell she took him in later to discover his flying ability years later she finds out of a strange tall man lurking in the mushroom forest speaking of revenge to a blue fast creature. Realizing it was sonic Shen send the two boys to look for him around the earth

Another theory could be that nobody sent Tails, he might be checking around the universe for any signs of ring portal uses on planets that don’t have access to that technology and he detected that five ring portals were opened in Green Hills within the span of just a few days
