According to Ian Flynn, Sega actually isn't keen on there being alternate dimension Sonics (notice how only one early episode of Sonic Boom had an alternate Sonic, while the alternate dimension they focused on later was a dimension without Sonic) Flynn knows the reason, but hasn't revealed it. He has said two things about it: 1. The reason Sega doesn't want it actually has nothing to do with Scourge the Hedgehog. 2. It's pretty ridiculous

Sonic prime has hands-down, the best robot designs, the grim bots yes, despite appearing a lot in season 3 there pretty awesome in terms of design and power and then there’s chaos sonic who is easily the best character in the show he has an awesome design and his personality is just hilarious glad they didn’t just use metal sonic. They learned from the 2010s, so they decide to make a completely new character

I agree with you Wolfie, Nine is definitely the most interesting character throughout the show! Nine is definitely one of my favourites❤️ Season 2 was definitely my favourite season, the third which ended beautifully felt very messy and repetitive in the middle. Favourite thing about season 3 is when the three Amy variants became sisters, the redemption of Dred, Nine (Rusty final redemption) and last of all Shadow was awesome in this show!🤩✨ The show was entertaining, amazing animation, voice acting was great and the whole story was good. However the third season could of been a bit better, like more rescuing of the variants in the worlds or better planning. I feel like if they did that it would of been a bit better. Overall Prime gets an 8/10👍

I think Sonic Prime is a very entertaining show, though it's the only Sonic show that I've finished to completion. The animation was incredible (except the 16-bit flashbacks, those were just alright), the voice acting was great, the character designs are fire, and the action sequences are easily the best aspect of this show. Like every time I have doubts about how good this show really is, those doubts are put to rest when I catch one of my friends streaming the show on Discord, then I see all these cool stunts and battles and I can't help but think, "Wow, they really did this?" It's also good in the comedic side of writing, the Chaos Council in Season 2 especially are a humorous lot with their interactions amongst each other. I also think the ending, despite being short, was done pretty well in terms of leaving the next adventure that would theoretically be "season 4" ambiguous and up to your interpretation. Like it really doesn't matter what that new threat is or how it will be dealt was, the point is Sonic and Shadow fought so hard to save the Shatterverse and get what they want, and now that they did, can stand up to anything, stronger and better than before. The same thing was done in The Incredibles (2004) after all. I do agree with the complaints you brought up such as the occasionally weak writing (along with its reliance on "fighting filler" instead of substantial interactions), the fact that we don't spend enough time in regular Green Hill to soak it up, and particularly with Season 3 and how the final battle essentially kept "resetting" itself. Despite these problems, I keep finding additional bits here and there that counterbalance those negatives, even in Season 3 there were moments that still kept me watching. I just can't bring myself to dislike Sonic Prime, because it just has so many strong points that I mentioned above.

I believe Sonic Prime is an okayish show. I don't have a favorite season, but I do agree with the argument between Sonic and Nine is one of my favorite scenes. I love that the writers did an amazing job with Shadow in Sonic Prime than in Sonic Boom though.

Im really glad that they lefted open ended because there is alot they still could explore like why did sonic go back in time when he made it to his universe and do the others still exist. It's implied that they existed before the shatter but nine actually questions this during him and sonic's fall out in season 2. And we still don't know who came throught that portal in the end either since the council was stuck in the shatter space.

They did explain why there aren't different sonics and shadows in the shatterverse, only those who were shattered got split into other characters shadow escaped the blast by teleporting away and sonic caused it in the first place

Sonic Prime Season 3 premiered the same day as the Ted show. I binged both and chose to watch Prime last since I was more intrigued by it. By the end of the day, I was filled with regret since Ted turned out great and Prime was a mediocre slog. 😢

To me, it was interesting. I liked the visuals and the animation and fighting scenes. But yeah, season 3 ruined it for me... I was not satisfied with the ending, not showing what happened to the other dimensions and not even Shadow after he helped defeat Eggman. Yeah, not the worst but it could've been better. I also didn't like how naive Sonic was sometimes

I stopped watching after S2 and hearing even from fans that S3 was a mess, I feel like a made the right choice.

I agree with a lot of points you made about the show Wolfie. Season 1 started off strong and I thought season 2 was the best season as well, but things definitely took a massive dive in season 3 and I was left a bit disappointed by the end of the show. That 3 episode fight absolutely dragged on way too long, but another criticism I have about season 3 is I feel like Nine's motivations as a 'villain' should've been explained to the audience a lot better. I still love Nine and I agree that he is one of the best things about the show as a whole, and its just such a shame that the show didn't do a very good job of explaining his motivations. You really had to read between the lines about his motivations, and from what I've seen, there are many people who immediately turned on Nine because they were not able to understand why he did what he did at the end of season 2. Overall, the show was ok in my opinion. I still like Sonic Boom and Sonic X better, but it's not too bad and it did have a lot of potential. It's just the 3rd season that let it down really, and the ending also left a lot of unanswered questions. For instance, how was Shadow able to get the chaos emerald back? That was never explained, and unfortunately that's just one of the unanswered questions that I'm left scratching my head about.

Great video and honestly I love Sonic Prime! The different versions of everyone were funny and interesting. I agree that the battle at the Grimm was really long, and the cliffhanger ending was disappointing. Overall, I think it's a good show.

Personally, I like that the ultimate battle took several episodes ngl.

New Yoke City is basically "What If Sonic Forces Was Actually Good?" No wait, that's the IDW Comics. You know what'd be cool? If the IDW Comics expanded on the Sonic Prime lore. It's explained both visually and outright stated that the reason why Shadow wasn't effected by the Shatter Event is that he blipped into this reality when he used Chaos Control. And the reason why Shadow can't travel through dimensions is that he doesn't have any prism energy, like Sonic or the Chaos Council. How hard is it to remember the name "Chaos Sonic," Wolfie? The Chaos Council name him after their organization. Now imagine this robot annoying Metal Sonic. Sonic Prime's third season did the Grim Alphas better than Sonic Forces did with the Phantom Copies. *WRONG!* Nine didn't bring Grim Big back! Sails and Mangey did! The reason Sonic was finally able to get through to Nine is that the kid was at his lowest point. He's no longer powered by prism energy, everyone is ready to take revenge on him, he has to face reality that his actions led to the destruction of everything, and he learned how friends are meant to treat each other. I'm fine with leaving things off where they ended. But I'm perfectly fine with this series being followed up with a movie, video game, or comic book series.

Usually in shows, videogames etc there are at least one character I hate. In Sonic games for example I'm not fond on many characters after 2002. I hate Silver and I dislike Shadow after 2006 (he was fine before, at least in SA2, Heroes and 06). In Sonic Prime Shadow is alright, I like him. Unlike many I really liked Sonic in SP. I liked even the most annoying character of all, Chaos Sonic, so callous. Of the chaos council my least favorite is Dr. Don't, he seems the less capable and the most arrogant, but it doesn't mean I hate him. Nine is a good villain, one you end to hate, but in a good way. Like Frieza. Though Nine is more the kind of villain who gets drunk of power. At least in the end he comes back to his sense. Is a shame they tripped in the last four episodes. I think the length of the fight wasn't a problem. We got even longer fights who we didn't mind because we used to watch just one episode at day back then, and those of SP if watched just one episode at time aren't that bad. I think it needed more episode to explore character interaction. The ones in ghost hill were great. By the latest episode you get to understand only if you observe and listen carefully, most people don't do that.

Would put it on the higer end. Its about a 7.2/10 it might be a little above sonic x but not by too much. But its way above sonic boom but thats a comedy so that should not really count.

Nine is literally the only reason why I like this show. Not even kidding.

It would have been cool if Shadow would have been hit by the crystal and Sonic didn’t, so Shadow would have to deal with different Sonic’s and all of his friends. How would he deal with them? It would probably be quicker than Sonic because Shadow would need new friendships because he would want the old ones back, even if it doesn’t seem he hangs out with him. Sorry for the long ramblings and run on sentences.

Put a next TV show of Sonic maybe Sonic: the Animated Series or maybe Lego Sonic: the Animated Series or maybe a videogame of Lego Sonic the hedgehog on Playstation 5 on this year of 2024 or maybe the next year of 2025

Whether you see this or not I'll still say it. I agree with most of what your saying except 2 points: in the terms of no Sonic and Shadow copies-someone named the corporate reason. but the show coulda expanded on it more, Sonic was the cause and he has a history of absorbing powers(frontiers even references that for his resistance to Corruption for so long). Shadow on the other hand Dodged the Explosion so no copies, and having a shadow in every space woulda been bad cuz we KNOW how shadow is, him without his Self-made leashes is terrifying. speaking of, Shadow coulda been used better, but I heavily disagree with making him go into Shatter spaces for the first 2 acts. The Whole point of Sonic vs Shadow 2 was Sonic KNOWS Shadow will be efficient but be completely ruthless about it and probably even kill others since to him THEY ARENT REAL.

Despite each Sonic show being entertaining and interesting in their own rights; to varying degrees depending on the person, there always seems to be one or two major things that holds them back. *Be it in what each delivered or from being the 'definitive' Sonic experience. (*I think some were probably hoping Prime would finally break the trend since the games has expanded a lot since AOSTH.)

Sonic Prime is my favorite solely because of Sonic and Shadow's dynamic.

I think the absolute silliest complaint this series faced was Sonic being "out of character" because like, nah, everything here was completely in character for the Colors-to-Forces, AKA Meta Era Sonic, with the point of the series being a rehabilitation of Sonic from this characterization. I'd almost consider this reaching considering how many people seemed to not even think of this, but that just is the explicit text of the show.

I think Sonic prime is a decent show

I actually think sonic's character is better here then it is in frontires. He has that more compassionate side that frontires gave him but did not mellow out his character to the point where he seems flawless not in the, he can do everything way but in an, he never does anything brash or rushed into things like he used to. Sonic has been a go-then-think kind of character but his heart has always been in the right place even if what he did was wrong. I like that sega is listening to the fans/general audience that keeps up with sonic but they need to understand what made his characters and friends work before and i don't think that ian is keeping this in mind when writing the chatacters for the game and neither are sega's higher ups to an extent. Although Ian has been pretty vocal online with his poscast so I hope he is open to some of the criticism he might be receiving and this applies to the other writers that where involved in frontires's story.

It's in-between for me; not the best, but not the worst. My cons are: 1) The worlds are nothing but alternate versions of Green Hill. Archie Sonic Comics did a better job of showing a Sonicverse; why couldn't the devs take inspiration from that? 2) While seeing alternate versions of Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, and Rouge are great; what about the other characters (The Chaotix (Vector, Espio, and Charmy), Cream, Cheese, E-123 Omega, Blaze, Silver, etc.)? It's a big missed opportunity to not see how the other characters would be in the different dimensions. Sticks could've appeared as a feral, but instead Mangey, Gnarly, Prim Rouge, Hangry, and Thron Rose are each of Stick's personalities. We could've seen Blaze and Marine as pirates along with Captain Whiskers and his crew, but nope. 3) The show contains contradictions despite being canon to the games. For example, in the flashback of Sunset Hill during Sonic Advance 3, after Sonic and Tails defeats the Egg Ball No. 2, Gmerl is destroyed along with the Egg Ball when in the game, Gmerl's body remains intact. 4) Chaos Sonic is just Deadpool. And yes, I don't like the character. The devs should've just given us Metal Sonic with a new look. 5) Why haven't Shadow used his powers? It's disappointing that Shadow doesn't perform a Chaos Spear, Chaos Blast, and other Chaos powers. 6) I felt the climax play it safe a little bit. 7) The devs pulled a Sonic 06 with only Sonic and Shadow knowing about the Shattered-verse and its events. Mine personal ranking of the shows are as follows: Sonic SATAM, Sonic X, Sonic OVA/The Movie (the fandubbed version), Sonic Prime, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Boom, and Sonic Underground (mainly because it got cancelled for no reason).

I liked Nine in seasons 1 & 2 but couldn't stand him season 3 when he went full villain. The dialogue he was given was hilarious. & his head in the sky I couldn't take seriously + loads of laughter. -It reminded me of a comic I wrote when I was 15. I'm pretty embarrassed by it, & Sonic Prime is much better than my old comic, but it still reminded me of it none the less. oof.-

I think as far as modern Sonic shows go it's the worst Sonic's writing is terrible Shadow's was bad in season 1 and then he barely gets any screen time in the next 2 seasons Chaos Council were annoying The dimensions aside from their themes (if that's the right wording) is so generic A lot of flashbacks don't really make up for the fact we barely see the og cast

definitely one of the WORST ones. but honestly given how dull writers have become with ALL shows lately. I cannot see them making anything better then this. Like Prime really feels like that's the best they can do in this age when it comes to series and it's really disappointing. NOBODY dares to take RISKS anymore, that's SAD. Nobody puts any real thought into the shows anymore and it shows. It's just a constant string of copy paste shows. Sonic prime is legit the exact same formula that WINX club season 5 did 10 whole YEARS AGO. quick introduction. fetch quest. showdown with the big bad. I've seen it so many times already. I just quit watching after season 1.

This was a massive letdown. It had so much potential, but squandered every bit. Prime commits the worst sin of any TV show: it's pointless to watch. It promised a lot, delivered on nothing, and was reset at the end and rendered moot. Because it had to be "canon", it couldn't spread its wings and go on to something bigger, and we all know this setting will never come back, as the games don't acknowledge extended media. A full year's worth of investment for nothing. The only Sonic media I'll never come back to, as there is nothing WORTH coming back to. That right there makes this the worst show.
