A got a suggestion from some of you viewers asking me how to set era 300 as tv speakers and if it sounds any good. So lets see how it sounds

Thanks for watching and the positive feedback. Really appreciate you guys and thats why i do my tests and trying to be as honest as i can with the reviews. Yeah apple tv compared to apps on the tv is totally different the sound is more clear and better dolby atmos effect threw HDMI with apple tv. Im glad my videos helped, any good movies you have tried out yet that you recomend?

The speakers haven’t arrived yet but by Sunday/Monday I’ll have it set up. Movie scenes I’m looking forward to testing is Creed 2 final fight, The Rumbling scene in Attack on Titan rumbling scene in attack on titan, Across The Spiderverse opening drum scene and John Wick 4 shootout scene.

@@miguelchambers9760 Yeah i watched John Wick 4 last weekend and that whole movie was a blast on the Sonos setup so you will definitley enjoy that movie.

Great video & test! Agree 100% 300’s can sound great up front through the Airplay . They really should open up the option to play around with them when we pay for the whole set of drivers! Sound quality is very individual. Can’t wait to add the Sub to them too. Thanks again for all your fun tests 🔊

Thanks for watching my friend. Yeah they should make that an option for every user out there. Some may like the front driver on and some may not but atleast give us that option. Era 300s sound amazing with dolby atmos music blasting from every angle so dolby atmos movies would do the same in my opinion. Thank you so much have some more tests this week. 🙏

For that reason, I recommend 2 era300 front and 2 era300 rear. They sound incredible in conjunction with the Arc. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for watching, yeah i can imagine i was thinking about that. I would love to try that out if i ever buy an extra pair of 300s. Do you have that setup? 2 Era 300 in the front and 2 in the back 🤯

@@thisishazno8536 4 Era300 is to increase the front potential of the ARC to a higher level. Well, it considerably improves the Dolby Armos ceiling effects (now there are also 4 counting the 2 of the ARC) and the stereo is much more realistic. The 2 in the back will stay just like yours. Now I will look to buy 2 to center them among the existing 4. According to SONOS technical support, they assure me, the ARC can hold a maximum of 32 SONOS speakers. First I will buy another 2 Era300 and... maybe by February 2024 I will manage to put SONOS AMP with 2 ceiling speakers. That is my goal to try.

Yeah i can imagine how great that setup sounds specially with the Era 300s in the front aswell. Wow didnt know that the Arc can hold 32 speakers that is amazing. Yeah i was thinking about buying more Era 300s aswell but i think im gonna wait for the Era 500 and then i will be complete with my setup for now. Era 500 in the back era 300s in the front and my Fives as sides aswell to enhance everything else with 2 subs haha damn and like you said maybe some ceiling speakers aswell

Hazno, I totally agree. I’m on the fence. The front drivers should be present especially when watching non Dolby atmos content. For the price point, there needs to be options. I’m considering returning the 300’s and getting the era 100’s.

Thanks for watching, yeah exactly i got so much hate for saying that. For us that has been using the Fives as surround knows what we want and the Fives for me are still the best speakers from Sonos until Era 500s IF they ever drop those. Yeah try the Era 100s they are deliver good bass and sound for the price. I got my Era 300s with 40% discount i would not give full retail price for those. 🙏

Well the arc is used with its front center, left and right powered speakers that sounds enough good with the rear 300 upward firing speakers accompanied them. But understand where your coming from, i myself and not too much bothered with it knowing that with the subwoofer gen3 and upward firing speakers in the arc bring the soundbar to life that hear.

We can all pick and chose whatever we like and set it up as we want. But im like you i like the Arc as center speaker it does an amazing job, i would not use Era 300s as tv speakers without Arc.

I believe you will be even more impressed with a physical disc or any physical media (mad max fury road for reference) dolby atmos true hd

Just today I connected 2 era 300s with a 2022 QN samsung tv through bluetooth and it works great.I also tried them with the beam2, but i'm gonna return the beam, my feeling is that it takes too much of the amazing stereo sound of the era's and bass.I also agree with what you say when they are used as rear speakers, it takes that cherry from the top. Maybe i'm not so much of a fan of complete surround and speakers in the back of my couch, the stereo quality of these 2 speakers is enough for a movie and music.Just my opinion...

Thanks for watching, Oh yeah i totally forgot that these have bluetooth aswell. Do you feel any latency when they are in bluetooth mode? Yes i think for a setup like that there should be an Arc or just maybe the Era 300s with a sub or something like that. I was amazed by how good they sound when the whole speaker is turned on when watching a movie.

@@soolee6352 Well I love bass haha so but to be really honest yeah the Era 300s will need atleast a sub mini. I have tried them out before and even in my review 6 months ago i talked about how the Era 300s lack bass.

So, Dolby Atmos won't work when connected to TV via Airplay without ARC? Because I suppose HDMI connection is needed in order for Dolby Atmos to work when playing TV.

Is it possible on the Apple TV to make it your default audio output? You showed it as temporary audio but I don’t wanna constantly reconnect it everytime I turn on the tv. If you can can you let me know I was thinking about buying but don’t wanna drop money and it can’t be used the way I want it

Thanks for watching, from what i can see you can only do that when you are connected with hdmi to soundbar or bluetooth mode on Era 300s. I dont think its possible to airplay automatically.

Can you please help me because i dont understand about setting a group with sonos.I have a beam gen2 with 2 era 300 as surround speakers.First i had era 300 in front as bluetooth audio for tv but you get echo sound sometimes and bugs..its just not possible and made for it.I have now ‘livingroom surround’ group on my sonos app but now i want to buy apple tv 4k and i would like to switch into stereo audio out.is this possible because you can not set up another extra group in the Sonos app because then sonos pick up the era 300 from the livingroon surround group….so that’s the problem. I would like a easy switch so i can listen in to stereo mode with only the era 300

Thanks for watching, so i understand the question right that you want to be able to quick qwitch between having them as stereo just the 300s by them selfs. But if you do so and want to group the Era 300s only in the setup with beam 2 then you wont have that surround effect from the Era 300s at all. Just want to give a heads up on that. Im sorry but Sonos has done that in the app and i know the frustration of not be able to use the speakers without having to disconnect them totally from the setup.

This set up is great with apple tv 4k but the most important question is: do you get dolby atmos sound if you watching a serie who supports dolby atmos.Do you think you get dolby atmos sound because you only get it if you have a sonos beam gen 2 + era 300 stereo pair

Check if Dolby Atmos is set up On your Apple TV 4K, go to Settings > Video and Audio and select Audio Format. Under Immersive Audio, check that Dolby Atmos is on. If you don't see Immersive Audio and Dolby Atmos as an option, you might need to change how your home entertainment system is set up. Some Dolby Atmos-supported content might show the Dolby Atmos iconNo alt supplied for Image in its audio info. If you're watching content on Apple TV+: Press Menu on your Apple TV remote and look for the Dolby Atmos iconNo alt supplied for Image.

@@ramonholland1165 Thanks for watching, to answer your first question. No you dont get Dolby atmos without a soundbar connected via HDMI. But the speakers doesnt sound bad at all in my opinion to have connected to apple tv and tv speakers. The whole speaker is on when they are not in surround mode which is what i wanted to demonstrate with this video. But yeah you are right you need either an Arc or beam 2 and Era 300 as surround to really feel that dolby atmos.

Can I connect the Sonos era 300 to an Apple TV that is connected to the projector via an HDMI cable in such a way that the Apple TV sends Dolby Atmos sound from applications such as Disney+ and Netflix via AirPlay? is there such an option without arc?

Thanks for watching, no from what i understand you need to have one speaker connected via HDMI to be able to use the dolby feature from the Era 300s. I dont think its possible to use airplay via apple tv to get full dolby sound threw Era 300s. Only dolby atmos music is enabled via Airplay 🙏

How did you change your default audio output from TV speaakers to receiver speakers? Mine says TV speakers and I don't know how to change ii... do you need an iPhone to change it? Thank you

Thanks for watching, to be honest for me it mostly goes seemingless but there is those time wherer you just want to throw the speaker out the window 😂. I dont know if that has anything to do with my router as so many writes. But yeah mostly seemingless no problem at all

@@Kigenbryan I have that setup and sure it sounds good with music, i think the big sub is a little to much for music but if you love bass then yeah. Yes having them setup as Stereo pair is definitley the best option if you want the music to sound as good as possible. But it doesnt take more than 1min to disconnect them and only use the Era 300s as stereo pair. They sound the best by themselfs in my opinion. OR you could buy Sonos Fives and stereo pair those and have the best speakers for music from Sonos right now 🤣🙏

You dont need apple tv airplay.If you tv has bluetooth you can connect it to your era 300 speakers and then you have stereo sound.For dolby atmos movie experience you need to connect your beam soundbar with hdmi e-arc /arc to your tv and place the era speakers at the background

Yeah to get dolby atmos you need to have a soundbar connected via hdmi. I have never tried to connect Era 300s via bluetooth, is the sound quality as good as having it connected via airplay?

Do you need to have soundbar to play music from Bluetooth to Sonos era 300s , cos I just got the speakers and nothing comes out of them and app asking for money subscription, I think the setup is poor

Thanks for watching, no its free if you use it threw the app then you can play music threw there with any of the music apps you got. Do you have spotify or apple music? If you use bluetooth you can play music for free with youtube.

Its easier if you download the Sonos S2 app and configure your speakers there for free and you can adjust everything there aswell. Sonos app is free, and if you are gonna use them in stereopair in your home then thats the best option

@@avrilolvera2276 sorry for the late reply, but you can only connect them with bluetooth as tv speakers not airplay like i have in the video. I dont know how good that sound will be, but give it a try. The best sound will be threw a soundbar like an Arc or beam 2. Bluetooth tends to have som latency aswell.
