Ah, I love loyalist Emperor's Children. My homebrew chapter are Emperor's Children loyalists and I have Saul Tarvitz as a contemptor in their lore.

Nice narrative game and great looking armies, just a few rules issues. The Tac squad can't charge out of a destroyed rhino as it's not an assault vehicle. The Breaches can't run as they are heavy.

Love it - don't mean to be "that guy" but EC aren't +1I, they fight at one initiative step higher on the charge which is an important difference. So PFs and PAs don't strike last necessarily. An EC terminator that charged with a powerfist will strike before a non EC model with a powerfist.

Stupid question. Does the stormeagle gunship have to start off the board in reserves, or can you have it on the field at start of game?

from what I remember off the top of my head is that if they start in hover they can start on the table but if they start in flight they must be put into reserves, though HH2 might have changed it that they only start in reserves so turn 2 onwards

Wouldn't claws rolling a 6 be AP 3 and a 5 roll AP2? Winters kept saying AP 2 for the 6 roll and AP 3 for the 5 roll. I don't play Heresy yet so not sure of the rules but a hiher die roll would typically mean more pen i thought.

In heresy you compare the AP value to a units save. If the AP value is the same or lower than your save, you don’t get a save. A terminator has a save of 2+, so it gets it’s save against AP3, but not against AP2. In heresy a lower AP is better 😊

Can someone explain if the emp. Children are still loyalists? Their lore confuses me. I thought they’re loyal but live in the eye of terror now?

No the emperor's children are a traitor legion, devoted to the god Slaanesh. However at the start of the heresy The Sons of Horus, World Eaters, Death Guard, and Emperor's Children all sent elements they believed would remain loyal to emperor down to Istvaan III. They then proceeded to try and eliminate them with a virus bomb. When that proved ineffective the traitors attacked the survivors, killing most of their loyalist elements. Some small groups of survivors escaped or missed the deployment but they were a minority of the survivors. After quitting the Siege of Terra the Emperor's children retreated to the Eye of Terror and managed to dominate the conflict there until they were shattered conflicts with the Black Legion and later the World Eaters.

Almost every chapter has some Marines that remained loyal to the emperor or to honour, but Fulgrim definetly turned to Chaos, so, no, the Children are not loyal. Just like the World eaters and Death Guard have loyalist Marines that have forsaken their original Legions. Some have become Grey Knights wearing the colors of no legion. I am reading the Siege of terra novels and a son of Lorgar is waiting to kill his father, a loyal Marine from a dishonored legion.

Great battle report. Just query.. if you make a charge disordered don't you loose all benefits.. including your legion trait. So SoH wouldn't get the minus 1 st and the EC would get the bonus to I
