I love your reviews Darren. Your authenticity and real world perspective is fantastic. I’ve purchased several lenses over the year largely based on your reviews and you’ve never let me down. Thanks so much!

I agree 100% I love the 70-200GMV2. I sold my v1 after getting to spend a day with the v2 before it was released and i was blown away. I would put it up there with the 135GM and the new 50GM 1.2 having them all I still say the 70-200gmv2 stands alone because of its versatility its really like a zoom prime lol. Thanks Darren great review

Thank you for the great review! I currently have the MkI version of the lens and am thinking of upgrading to the MkII. And yes I also think the latest Sony products are incredible - especially the Sony A1 and the 50mm 1.2 GM.

Tonys and Chelsea test isnt absurd. I shoot sports and I handled situations like that or worse. I got a7iii and its focus is amazing, but Im building my sony lens so far. Here in brazil is cost prohibitive buy native lenses, so my 400mm 2.8 from canon will be with me a while and it doesnt work as well adapted. I can only imagine what a7 iv can do, waiting for it someday

Thank you for the Sony 70-200/2.8 MKS II GM review. It and my 50/1.2 & 135/1,8 GM lens are my favorite though the 35/1.4 and 14/1.8 GM are great as well. Interested though in seeing what you like so much about Nikon. If you gave a review there you can point me to please provide a link. Take care.

Wow a very impressive lens and it should make Canon more competitive with their RF lenses, I am currently using the RF 70-200 with my R6 and it's one of the best lenses I've ever owned I like that Sony driving more competition to the RF system. BTW I thought the the Canon is $2700 at launch? That doesn't matter though since I got one used for $1900 and that's a steal in my opinion.

Any other Sony shooters watch this lens review and think how neat it was that Craig Kilborn was providing it?

Sadly, most watching this video weren’t even around when Kilborn was a nightly staple :-). I’ve heard that before.

Hi Darren, greetings from Ireland. How do you find the Sony a7 4 body I am seriously considering it cheers
@DarrenMiles

Bigger and chunkier than the mark iii's. Which I actually prefer, feels like mirrorless has gotten over the need to be so much smaller and lighter... I prefer capability over small size and weight personally... The A74, is VERY capable!

@@DarrenMiles will you please consider doing a set up video on your A7IV? As someone who loved Olympus for years I've enjoyed all of your videos over the years and imagine we have lots in common about how we like a camera set up. Since I just yelled all my Olympus stuff for an a7iv and 70-200 Mark 2 I have some learning to do.

I think the New Tamron 35-150 f2.8 is a super duper option to consider.
@pawelmod3292
@pawelmod3292 2 жыл бұрын
It depends what you need. 35-150 will not replace 70-200 GMII in terms of AF speed and FPS for a9/a1 cameras. But in general, it is a great to have such lenses from Tamron :-)

If they allowed the lens to work at full speed and with a TC, it would be a home run. Unfortunately, I think that's where Sony draws the line.
