One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

You got a bad pair. No electronic from Sony should have gouge marks. Could be refurbished or a factory mess up.

The power and volume button covers have already come off of mine. I've had mine since Black Friday of 2016. Love the sound though. Really good bass in my opinion.

Aside from the REALLY annoying cables, I think they are great. I didn't get those gouges you stated so maybe just a bad pair? Excellent audio quality (better than the Jaybirds X2 for half the price), long battery life, sweat resistant. I'm listing them in my bang for buck devices. I discovered this while looking at the X2s and the Bose Soundsport wireless which both retail at 130-150 then accidentally saw these. Thought they'd suck since they're half the price of both but was overwhelmed at its audio quality. It's on par with the Bose SS Wireless and better than the X2s. The in-ears are huge but they are very comfortable to wear except for the cable. The cable irks me since I can feel it at the back of my neck. I need to buy an alligator clip for it. So aside from the cable, I'd recommend this highly to anybody. Of course it doesn't have the features like tap to go to Google Now or Siri but it has the basics and if all you're doing is run, workout, answer calls and music then this one will be your best bet .

These are great feel sturdy yet real light. The NFC capability is convenient. the mids and highs are good and the extra bass comes in handy when you tryna knock ya favorite slaps. The battery life lasted me a whole 8 hour workday easily that was a nice surprise. Just get them you won't be disappointed.

I bought my 1st pair 2 years ago lasted a good while until my dogs got to them. I repurchased the same pair a few months ago I'm not disappointed. Both did not have flaws no gauges no static. The only flaw is the call mic. But that's the same with all bluetooth headphones. But I bought these for music not to make calls so no worries in my end.

soo its march 23rd 2017 and i got these afew days ago. honestly the build was nothing like the pair you got and they look great honestly. the sound is great and battery life too but yess the mic is crap. its on the right earphone and you literally have to take it out to talk to people efficiently. really takes away from the whole bluetooth and handsfree almost likeness but i def love these headphones. first pair of bluetooth headphones too. aaand they were $40 :)

mine is fine and well manufactured. I bought it back from Hong Kong btw. I lost one earbuds unfortunately while it was hanging on my neck when I wasn't listening to music. battery life seems pretty good but that's the diff between wireless and wire. mine's blue color too.

Paid 24 dollars for a new pair on eBay and they are great for how much I paid. Had it for a month now and I have no complaints other than how big the buds are. Other than that if they're perfect if you can find it between 20-35 dollars

I went through 2 pairs of these. The sound quality was great. The build quality was very poor in my experience as well. For both pairs the buttons became loose after few months, even fell off later. Also the encapsulating rubber also became loose after a while.

I have this earphones. Your description is very accurate. Build quality, cable, buttons, long time listening comfort all very bad, sound heavy base (surprisingly I like it) voices good, stage good not grate also they connect with my phone almost immediately. May pair started to have the rubber or plastic layer peel away and the volume button fall of. If it wasn't for the bad build quality this earphones will have been great.

One of the best headphone I’ve owned, specially in sound. Perhaps even a little better then my new Sony WF-SP800N which I found to have better sound quality then the Jabra 75 Active Elite in my opinion.

I am asking this because, since these headphones do not support aptX, I am concerned about their sound quality and latency. Not at all suitable for gaming(PUBG & COD) If you are a bass lover then you would love it.

i bought mine in Singapore fro SGD 100. It's ok except for mike. I have to remove from ear for contacts to hear properly. As one commented about losing the power button, i lost the volume button a few times, luckily found until lost it in the street. Sony replaced my unit with a brand new one. One month on my volume button has come off again. this appears to happen when the unit takes a knock, a good reason to have a pouch when not in use.

I have owned this pair of headphones for over a year now. The good. I like bass heavy hip hop/rap. I also like bass heavy electronic music. This type of music keeps me pumped up during my work out. So the sound quality is great with the bass. The bad. Very cheap build quality. The silicon On button and Volume buttons have fell off after 6 months. Every time I turn these on I need to use my nail to jam in the button to turn on. So my opinion, great sound quality for the price, horrible build quality. I wouldn’t buy again due to my pair has missing buttons that fell off due to build quality. If that was fixed buy Sony I would definitely buy again.
