@holdencommstra It depends on your budget, both will do a great job, though I think Canon has the slight edge for video in DSLR.

A Canon 5D Mark 2 will do a better job with video quality especially in low light at a smaller package. That's still called a prosumer camera whereas the 5D is a real production piece of kit. My 2 cents.

Heavy lens, awkward handling, price, that is all. It is still an awesome cam just not for me.

u should buy an adapter and fix your L lens to it!!!

This camera can not shoot tethered. It's a nice beginner camera. The lens is very slow & useless on dim lighting with F6.3. Sony screwed up big times, just like the A77. A77 CAN NOT do tethered shooting. Nice reviews.
