Sony XM5 vs XM4 upgrade or not?
The Sony WH-1000XM5 have a better microphone performance (although not the best in the market, apple airpod max probably has that), the ANC system manages noise slightly differently. You can still expect significant overall great sounds on XM5 although the XM4 holds its own too.
If you already have an XM4 then XM5 is not going to blow you away.
XM5 design looks and feels very premium and modern and gives enough reason why those who fancy them do.

I have both and there both amazing, the xm5s noise cancelling is a lot more quiet and sounds a little better but the xm4s are still a good buy

Noise cancelling headphones from Sony XM5 and XM4 are awesome but probably not an upgrade over the previous version. Thoughts in comments section below

There are many reports that after 1 year or 6 months, the users face issues regarding the build quality ( it breaks ) and also some noise in either of the side.
