"Mein Prem ki Dewaani hoon" is the remake of "Chitchor" so I don't think his niece would be old enough to experience such story since Chitchor is release in 1976 and the movie with Salman and Sonam started are the remake of Korean movie "Masquerade" ( ppl also mentioned that movie was copied from novel or Hollywood movie, but I am not sure of that. PRDP is very similar to the Korean movie Masquerade with Indian masala that I can tell.)
