I got my undergrad at 47 years old…best decision I ever made. It took me 6 years. I went to a traditional private university and did the in-person classes. Contrary to what many people told me, it has had a huge positive impact on my career. It’s never too late.

I've noticed this pressuring is common among female colleagues as well, not just family. I received a lot of lukewarm responses or confusion when I stated I was in the child-free by choice camp. I do not feel I'm missing out on something, but other women like to tell me I am. I used to question if there was something wrong with me as a woman for not wanting children but at this point it's my choice and I stand by it. Thank you for bringing this up Sophie. It's validating.

OMG! I can't believe that people are still getting the children question. It's so disrespectful! I'm over 65 yrs old now and I knew in high school I didn't want kids. I'm so happy with my decision!!!!!! Having children is the most important job a human can have so make sure you are doing what is best for you!

I opted out of having kids. Now that I’m in my 60’s and happily married I have NO regrets. I also see what my brothers have gone through with their kids. I have NO regrets for not having kids. That, and I have $$$ in my retirement accounts, new car(s), a beautiful home, etc. Happy with our decision!

My husband and I are very happy.We are married 35 yrs and kid free.Have no regrets.It's a personal choice.I am happy for those who decide to have kids yet you and David like myself and husband should never feel pressured.

I am also child-free by choice, and I would like to thank you for making your audience aware of the importance of respecting other people's choices. I haven't regretted for a second not having children. I was, as well, way younger than 10 years old when I realized I am not into babies. Pressure however is so, so annoying! Just yesterday our neighbor told us a story how a 56 year old cancer patient gave an interview about how he is regretting not having a child. I am so grateful I never gave in to pressures, because I would regret having a child. This amazing lifestyle we have would be impossible with a child, and it would also ruin the nature of our relationship.

I’m 67 and never regretted not having children. I did experience a lot of unfortunate comments particularly at work. I was upper management at a Fortune 500 company in the US. Even though they talked a good game about diversity, that didn’t extend to employees who chose to not have children. One boss even called me into his office to explain that I would need to work extra to fill in for a pregnant coworker. He said someone will do the same for you when you’re ready to have kids. I told him I wasn’t having any. He was shocked. I got an angry lecture about how intelligent and educated people have a responsibility to have kids because the uneducated are just pumping them out. I was also told that I shouldn’t take time off at Christmas because “it’s not like you have a real Christmas with children.” You have to grow a tough skin but I wouldn’t change a thing.

I am going to be 35 in a couple of months and I went back to med school a couple of weeks ago! Enjoying it immensely, even though my luxury collection is on hold for now...

I have never watched you for hauls. Actually the opposite. I like the conversation, advice and your personality. I’m not huge into luxury shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in my 50s and buy what I want at this point, but I buy one to two luxury items a year. So it’s you I come here for.

Being an adult means knowing you. I have 4, my kids don't want them. They are under no obligation to make me a grandma, shudder. I raised mine. It was for me. I'm happy if my kids are. They are pretty happy adults.

I can totally relate to that question about kids. Not all of us have that desire, and my girlfriends who are without kids all say the same thing, they never even considered being parents when picturing their lives. It's just a shame that a lot financial and government programs lean heavily towards married with kids, leaving single and without kids as self sufficient and an after thought. 🤷

Someone who asked about luxury luggage, I hope this helps: I agree with Sophie's answer, but about Rimowa. If you are contemplating about whether to go for Rimowa as opposed to LV for instance, I've worked with them and we learnt about what makes them different: not only they're very light and the way everything is done inside is very comfortable, they use the same material as used in planes, making them very durable and they will last you forever! Also, they don't stand out the way a designer one would, won't attract unnecessary attention (as Sophie mentioned thieves), only those who know will know 🌞

Thank you for sharing the story of your first bunny. Mine passed more than a decade ago and I miss him dearly and have been living with guilt all these years wondering what really went wrong. He died a couple of months after we moved and just like yours, his behaviour changed, stopped eating and quickly deteriorated. Your story provided some closure and answers. I still feel bad thinking about what he must have gone through but I’m glad we had 6 wonderful years to look back on and remember by.

Like you I never wanted to have kids. I also had a brother born when I was 10. Love him to bits but also helped with him and saw all the work involved. And then my mother died just before he turned 5 so it was really intense. Felt like I had already done it. And I agree, finding a good partner is a lot about luck. Took me a lot longer but I finally found a good one.

I found parts of my University time stressful. The social pressures to party, have fun, get a boyfriend, spend money etc were huge. I enjoyed a lot of my University time but being around young adults finding themselves ( or not) without parental guidance was at times quite hard. Not enough people mentions this. I always knew I didn't want children since I was 10 years old. The obviousness to have children was rather choking to me. For a very short time I talked myself into children but it lasted only 3 weeks. After that, the more pressure I felt the more stubbornly I became. I was happy with my husband without children. I'm in my 60's now and not a moment of regret. 😊

Sophie, I have felt exactly the same way as you regarding children. I love children. I think they are so fun and cute, they love me it doesn’t even bother me when a child is crying in a store I am empathetic towards their discomfort. However, I have never wanted to have a baby. I think sometimes people think you are a cold person if you don’t want to have children and that couldn’t be further from truth. opposite personality wise, It’s refreshing to hear others speak of their similar experiences. I have 3 girls myself, and while they are my entire heart and I love being a mom more than anything, my oldest does not want children. She has said she either wants none or just one. I think the most important thing a woman needs to consider before having a child is are you okay with putting that child and his/her needs completely before your own? I became a mom very young, so that's the one thing i remember feeling, that my child 100% has to come 1st. I can completely understand not everyone is ment to be a parent and i respect those who take it seriously. Much love xxx

As a mom of 5, I deeply respect the choice anyone makes around having kids. For me, children add an element to my life I’d never want to miss out on. But that’s for me. My husband and I own 3 businesses so our days are long and very filled, but it’s a labor of love for us, and it works bc we’re partners in everything. That being said, this may not be the ideal vision someone else has for their life, and that’s their choice. I find it so annoying when ppl want to push their vision of a “perfect life” onto others. Keep living your version of an amazing life! You’re truly blessed! ❤

It's Friday and a bonus video?! What a treat! People need to realize having children is a CHOICE! I am blessed with a child, of course, whom I love more than anything in the world. But I also thought about it growing up if having a child is the right choice for me. I was always confused and wasn't very sure about it. As time went on, I was ready for a child, and my heart can never be more full! However, families and friends that ask about it is really disrespectful and intrusive. They don't realize what people are going though (infertility, health issues, financially, etc). Also, it has been engrained in their minds that they automatically assume once a couple is married, they should have children. People somehow cannot wrap their heads around when they hear someone does not want kids. The choice at the end of the day is between you and your partner. Thank you for sharing Sophie!

I too, like you, have never wanted children and saying it out loud makes me almost a monster in people's eyes! I've never felt able to handle a responsibility as big as that of another person's life, I think it's really an immense responsibility to bring a child into the world and that a lot of people do it too lightly. There are people who think that if a couple doesn't want children, it doesn't even make sense for them to get married..! Is absurd. I have 3 step kids and when I chose to get a hysterectomy at 40 cos of fibroids it did give me a few crying times cos of not having a kid. Cut to now and I'm so glad this situation was done without my input in a way.

I just love your honesty, your talk on experience, your views on different topics ie Cars .. I love luxury goods too but your taste & my taste is different so it does not really matter about whether you buy luxury goods to show us, I just enjoyed the window shopping around London with you. Re-childless subject, I think it’s really a personal views n choice. I have to say it’s pretty common nowadays a lot of couples are choosing not to have kids. It’s better not to have if you are not ready than those that actually have them(kids) and regretted it & abandon or abuse their kids due to their own submission. Kids are not temporary wants, it’s a lifetime commitment to care, give n support.... and a 2way ❤I hope people gets to appreciate more, gratitude more & show kindness more & not judging bcuz they are different.

I knew my entire life that I did not want children. Even when I played with dolls, I knew the 'real' thing would not happen. When my little friends spoke about what they would name their kids, I did not join in. When I got older, I had people tell me I was "selfish" for not wanting to be a mother or that I must dislike kids. That hurt. I was a school teacher and loved it and loved the students. People simply could not wrap their heads around it. I stopped trying to explain myself.

The kid thing, I am in it right now. And I work with children. Just don't know that I want my own! Thanks for speaking about it.

When I stress about work, I cant relax. If I know it's temporary (eg a tight deadline) I actually just get on with it, work late do whatever I need to get the problem solved. If it's not temporary I look to make a permanent change

At the end of the day the people giving you pressure will not be the one taking care of the children you have......you will!!! It's a huuuuuuge commitment.......bigger than marriage even!!! It's refreshing to see a marriage where the husband and wife don't have separate finances. This is how my parents do it & my ex-fiancé wanted to keep it separate! It seems so common to have it separate now & to me, that's not what a marriage is about!

As someone else who is childless by choice, I can total relate to the whole pressure thing, and for us too, it started almost as soon as the wedding was over. While it used to just frustrate me, the rudeness of it all really came to light when a friend of mine who had been married several years was struggling trying to get pregnant, and every comment of that sort would reduce her to tears. You never know what someone else might be dealing with and to even ask it is just ignorant. Mind your own business when it comes to personal decisions. My husband and I have been fortunate in other ways and we are the fun/crazy aunt and uncle. Plus kids ARE NOT cheap! On a different subject, I'd love to see you do a Poundland haul or some other inexpensive store, you always have the best reactions and comments!

Especially now, when having babies seems to give a huge boost in views. There are tons of channels, families, former Beaty gurus - now having family channels, popping babies every 2 years… earning tons of money on social media by selling their kids privacy… among all this BS you are genuine. On the issue of having children, I really appreciate your sharing this and I totally relate, especially to the societal pressure, which is awful. As an aside, I think there is no doubt you and David would be great parents, and any child would be lucky to have you as parents. But that doesnt mean having to do it.

I thought like you about kids. I kept waiting & finally decided to give it a go & is the best thing I ever did. The dirty nappys etc are temporary; the love is forever. My only regret is I waited, had one, realized how wonderful they are, & then got cancer before I could have more. Now my child will never have a sibling and it hurts my heart terribly. I know kids arent for everyone but it's funny how your heart can change with time. Much 💕

As a woman in her mid thirties that does not have a plan to have children, I honestly don’t care what other people have to say about my life choices. At the end of the day it’s me that lives my life. If they have something to say about that, that’s their problem not mine.

I knew I never wanted kids, but when I was 36 I had my daughter- she never cried, slept all night. Fantastic baby! She`s 16 now. I`m so happy that I have her. But she is my only child. One child was enough for me. We have 3 free ranging bunnies at home right now- lovely lovely pets.

£2500 bill for your rabbits? And you don't have kids? They are like kids! When you're on holidays you have to pay for someone to look after them. But the most important thing is that some animals give more than what some human can give, so you do have "kids" in my opinion! I had a cat and no human being loved me like she did.

Great video with great wisdom. On the kids front, I think of it like this. A lot of people experience a desperate yearning for children. And not just children, pregnancy, parenting and devoting themselves to their kids. And if someone doesn't experience that or maybe the opposite why would you pressure them to have kids??? People will encourage couples to spend thousands of dollars on the pursuit of having children but poo poo someone who says "it's just not for me". I can't help but feel there's an element of jealousy in the freedom of life without children that some people with children experience. And so I start to wonder if they really did want their kids at all? Why are you so hell bent on making people feel bad for not having kids?... And this is coming from somebody who works with children. My husband works with children and we both intend on having children.

Agree I’m over 35 and going for my masters .. but I raised our children ( the youngest is in 9th and son is a senior ) and worked / took care of children while my hubby got his masters and climbed the ladder in his job . We have 6 children all together , his mine and ours and I had my first child at 16 , we have raised them all without the help of our exes ( mine was very abusive anyway so he never needed to be in their lives ) ..no help from anyone ❤

I love babies they're so adorable but I never had any, I think looking hindsight I think I did right to not have them because I'm such a worry wart, I would have been a helicopter mom, and would not have disciplined my child, so many mistakes are made as ill equipt parents and I believe more people should understand the gravity, cost, and responsibility that one takes on if you choose to have children.

It's disgusting someone else is pressuring others to have kids. they must be jealous and bad parents themselves and do not want you to have a life different than them.

I've got so many new clothes that I want to buy for my birthday, but in the meantime I'm really trying to enjoy what I have. I've numbered my tops (because I have more or them) and lettered my bottoms/dresses and I use a number/letter generator website so that I can try new combinations of my clothes that I wouldn't have picked myself

The decision to do have kids for us was driven (for me) to a big extent by the thought, what I am I going to do when I am 70? What is one of us dies earlier? There will just noone in my life. Now that I have our son, I can tell it is the greatest thing ever. There is nothing on earth that can make me happier. It is a lot of work, a lot!!!!, but there's nothing that can make me happier. Don't understand me wrong: I have a great job, carrier, interesting life, that is "on stand by" right now. But I am happy about my decision!😊
