Had both, would recommend Gousto over HF. The HF meals repeated a lot, Gousto has a lot more dishes available weekly.

Spices were definitely the most interesting, they seem like pretty good value too mainly because they give you the recipe for the spice blends, which are always a nice addition to the trusty kitchen notebook

@@laakins In the US, there is a food delivery service called Every Plate. It is very similar to Hello Fresh, but cheaper. It's a sister company. The 'cheapest' plan is for 2 people and 3 dinners per week. The cost is about $40 (with shipping). It gives you all the ingredients, portioned out, the recipe card (which you can keep) and each week you can choose from several different meals. There are no special dietary meals, so if you have allergies or restrictions it won't be for you. Also every so often you get a code to give to a friend for free. It's their first box they get the base model ^ for free (but will have to then cancel their subscription). In addition, you can skip weeks so if this week you want it but next week you will be out of town you can skip your delivery (you can do this about 3 weeks out).

I so agree with him, though. The cheeses, the red, grapes, apple slices, maybe even radishes and some thin gingerbread cookies or similar. (Gingerbread goes ridiculously well with blue cheese!)

As a person who chooses to live by herself, I understand both Ben and the cake subscription. Cooking or baking a cake for one is too much of a hassle as well as too much of a risk of overindulgence on one single flavor. This subscription solves de issue of volume as well as provides with a much welcomed variety to over indulge. Bring them on, NOW!

Hello Fresh and Blue Apron are pretty good. When i was working a 12 hour from shift from 8am to 8pm i used both Services and was always satisfied. But sadly it can differ alot from region to region.

Simplycook are good. Same idea, £10 a month I get four meals, each for 2 people. Worth a look

Or just go to the store and buy spices. Try Asian stores for shelves full of the stuff. They also sell ready made mixes. Google different spice mixes and make your own. For the price of one month you can get a whole lot of spices.

@@John...44... the main difference (in my opinion) is that you're buying plastic/metallic baggies with a few grams of spice mix for quite a lot of money. Lots of plastic waste too. Other delivery services have the plastic waste too, but whether you buy a cucumber at the store or get it delivered, either way its wrapped up.. 2 grams of spice doesn't need to have its own packaging when you can get 150gram bags from the shop..

I love the spice one. That’s a great idea - a bit of learning, new ideas, good food. Plus they tell you the spice blend, which you pay for at first as part of the subscription, but then you can make again and again.

Like I had to do a double take to make sure I heard them correctly 😂 but whatever it tastes like it's still exposing them to some semblance of our culture which anyone should be happy about! Just found your videos bout 5-6 weeks ago whilst laid up with surgery on my foot. I must have watched over what feels like 150 of them Thank you I love the style, your humour between each of you. Okay. I stopped the video often the spice box subscription because I’m Nigerian and had to comment. I have been PRAYING that you guys would feature Nigerian cuisine on here and this honestly made my entire day! Nigerian food is comforting, warm and yes a tad spicy and I’m so glad you got to experience it - albeit not authentic. Please feature more Nigerian recipes! The spicery boxes are absolutely amazing! We were given a subscription (I literally cooked one today) for Christmas and it is so fun- the fact that they give you the spice blend recipe so you can remake them is also awesome

we got the world spice one (curry version) for my dad last year for father’s day + it’s fair to say we love it. the things we got we would have never tried before but have all been incredible. would defo recommend to anyone

The subscription club that impressed me the most was the world spice club... because they disclosed what spices they were using. That gives educational value and the ability to recreate the dish(es) without having to get more of their curated ingredients. Good on them!! ^5

Video ideas: Ultimate Freakshake Battle (creds to Maria Anna for that one) Ultimate Fish Battle Ultimate Salad Battle or Ultimate Chefs Salad Battle I just think itd be really interesting to see you guys transform something as easy and mediocre as a salad into some decent munch. Mike would probably make something super healthy, Barry would somehow make it sweet and Jamie would somehow include a burger. Would be fun to watch😂. Love the vids lads.

In Germany and Switzerland there's a rice subscription called Reishunger (rice hunger) and both my ex and my brother have it. You can get all kinds of rice (wild, black, etc.) and nowadays even noodles made from rice, rice cookers, sauces and they also have starter kits and bundles. They get there rice directly from the farmers, cutting out the middle man and the majority of rice is organic (so European and North and South American are, Asian aren't yet). It's a really cool concept and if I weren't a broke uni student I'd get it.

We did a group ‘pass it on’ type evening, using 3 of the spicery recipe packs - great fun! Because of the way the recipe packs are written, everyone ended up doing little bits and no one knew where/who had done what but it all came together and tasted amazing!

I got my mum the spicery subscription box for her birthday (she loves making curries), and she then paid for herself to continue to have it because she said it’s the best present she’s ever had, it’s really increased the variety of not just curries we have but also other awesome food that we wouldn’t have ever known about in the uk, such a great box to get!

You guys should do a remote-control episode while everyone is on lockdown. Have a chef control a normal cooking in their own home, choose a meal first and then try to recreate it using only the items that they have at home. It would be a cool way to show people how to substitute ingredients, change things as they cook, and make a good meal with whatever ingredients are available.

My dad uses the spicery, they also do gift boxes with a 150 page recipe book and 4 large tins of spice blends that you can buy refill packets for, and it’s AMAZING

I was baffled by that as well! They make things sound so much more fun! I lived in Oz for a few years. Came back to visit and the first morning at my parents my mom decided to let me sleep in and brought my 4yr old son to the kitchen to eat breakfast. My mom said he took one look at the food and went from smiling to looking sad. She had told him she made sausage and biscuits for him. In Aussie terms, he was expecting hot dogs and cookies! I’d frown too, poor Li’l guy! Lol

13:15 I'm i the only one having an issue with how all those "Modern" shakes looks like someone just when nuts and everything looks gross and dripping from everywhere with half the toppings and fruit sauce ALL over the place, but hardly IN the shake?... I've seen it hundreds of times, food that once on the "plate" looks like someone Shat it out without a care in the world, and for some reasons people love it... WHile if in my Shop,would have a smudge of mayo or ketchup on a pack of fries even though it is not the sauce the customer asked for, they would look at me with contempt or find it disgusting... Is that an Hipster thing? the messier it looks the better for the instagram and Tumblr pictures?...

The messy looking food (which mostly looks a bit more like controlled chaos) does seem to be really popular on instagram for whatever reason. Like an edible Jackson pollock maybe or sth I personally dont really see the appeal either tbh
