At South Point, I have never eaten at Big Sur Oyster bar. I always went to either the Buffet or to Coronado Cafe, but lets see what this is about!

Danny, John really loved you and your channel. Thank you for having such a big, caring heart and doing this for John. I’ll never forget this. You are helping us remember his best memories in such special ways. Right before I watched, I wondered if I was going to cry. I felt John say to me that you were going to make me laugh, and you sure did. Btw, I ALSO FORGOT TO BRING JOHN’S UNDERWEAR but I brought everything else just like you did! I like the Blue Point oyster 🦪, but those look very delicious. I would eat the slimy ones ,but with cracklers. Great to try out various seafood dishes. Be adventurous. Thanks for the Friday review 👍

You are a class act. May John Ng's memory be a blessing. As for the food, oysters are one of my very favorites but those did not look appealing. Was surprised you gave them an 8.5 considering you didn't seemed thrilled with the slime factor. Oyster should always be served on ice. The reason your lobster tail was curled like a snail was it was overcooked. The screaming kid was enough to put me off going anywhere near the South Point.

Big Sur is a location between L.A. and San Fran. Famous for the beautiful coastal drive a tourist trap called Hearst Castle. Cambria is nearby and we lived in since 1990. We now retired living in Vegas near South Point. My condolences to the family.

That was nice of you to dedicate this video to John Ng. My condolences to the Ng family. Big Sur is a very picturesque stretch of the California coast between Carmel and San Simeon. I don't think there are any oyster farms in that area. Thanks for the stories. Even though I had some training, I don't think being an EMT was for me. Never heard the story of your dad. I would love to hear more!

On Netflix, on the show Somebody Feed Phil, he did an episode from Scotland. He ate oysters that had scotch whisky added to them. Phil seemed to enjoy them.

Hard to pass up the buffet or the coffee shop when I visit South Point. Never did try the oyster bar since I don’t care for oysters. Thanks for living vicariously thru you.

I'd return everything. We get oyster from the oyster farms we hold them for a week in the fridge and they never get like that. They were bad I don't know how they don smell profusely

Nice tribute video to Mr. Ng. Thank you for allowing him to join you in spirit Danny. Don't you like lobster yee mein Danny? The Oyster bar at Palace Station and Durango are clones of the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Terminal. I assume you have been to the one in NYC so hopefully you can do a comparison between the original and the Vegas clones. The Pan Roast is the dish that made put the original on the map of must eat spots in NYC.

I do not like lobster yee mein.. due to the possibility of shell fragments in the mein, but I have never heard of GCT oyster bar, never been there... how odd.. clones you say? I may have to check it out.

yes Danny they are supposed to be the same outfit but never tried the Vegas ones because there is always a line. Durango location had about 6 in queue 2 weeks ago at 5:30pm on a Wednesday night. They are open 24 hours so I think if you went late at night no problem with waiting. BTW Big Sur is a beautiful coastal city below Monterey / Carmel on the calif coast

I live in Cincy OH and some nice paces have West coast and E coast, I much prefer East but it's closer W coast allway taste brine to me thought it might be the distance Assume your are W coast since closer.

I would never pay that much for 6 stupid oysters. I was at the number one local Chinese buffet with friends the other day. I ate 5 cooked, then iced mussels. With some squeezed lemon and soy sauce they were better than your $18 rip-off oysters. This buffet costs $13.50 after tax and tip. Ate lots of Chinese roast duck. Steamed fish, tuna sushi, fried pork dumplings, pan fried noodles, some vegetables, large shrimp. Delicious hot n sour soup. Pistachio ice cream. But my big secret is that I ate plenty of oysters when they were cheap. 20-30 years ago. So I never need to eat one again. hahhahhaha! But really, cooked, chilled mussels are the bomb! They look great too! You can put cocktail sauce on them too.______________ No tap water!______ I don't drink anything when I eat. Better for digestion.

As I suspected because very similar to Spanish, diavolo is Italian for 'devil' and perhaps should be pronounced more similar to Spanish. Someone mentioned below that sauce is usually spicy, which would make sense, but maybe yours was not so.

You ordered a Seafood Plate. The noodles should not be cooked in beef broth! I would eat those oysters all day, every day, as well as everything else that was on the other platter. I’m sure it goes to personal preference.
