Thank you so much Jack! I can't tell you how much that means! As far as the future does, I'm not sure! I definitely do well down here, but there are hard parts as well. I think I'm definitely going to take a break from Pole and winters. However, I can see myself going back to McMurdo for the summers for a little while. That's just super fun and a lot shorter. 13 months is a long time to be away from civilization. Haha. Also, to be completely honest, my dream is to continue to grow this travel channel, and if things start to go well and I can turn it into my job, then I don't know if I can come back. For one, it's crazy hard to even make one video a week with the 60 hour work week we have here, and second, I am not allowed to monetize stuff while I'm here. So it would make it hard to keep any momentum up. But we shall see! Lots of stuff is up in the air in the future!! ☺️

@@GoneVenturing Your videos are perfect for school kids wanting to know about life on the ice. Maybe linking up with some schools or educational programs and getting feedback from the kids would help keep the momentum up ? I could honestly see you doing this sort of thing professionally for PBS or the BBC, I'm thinking David Attenborough on Red Bull :) Maybe use your videos for a demo reel, put some feelers out and see what happens ?

Wow seriously thank you so much! That really means a lot for you to say that! Especially the Attenborough comment! I don't think I come anywhere near him! 😜 But seriously, thank you ☺️ I have done a couple unofficial things off-ice including a talk to a nature organization and a couple talks to elementary schools, and that was definitely a lot of fun. However, the difficulty lies more in that I have a 60 hour/week job and making these videos, IG Posts, tweeting, etc and then also maintaining my own life here is quite a lot on top of it. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it and there is no way I'm going to be stopping! It's just that the goals I have for post-ice include posting a lot more and ultimately going "full time" with it!! I'm super excited for the future, because my goal is still to continue creating unique content that takes people places they might not otherwise get to go. Mostly I just hope awesome people like you stick around! I know it won't be Antarctica, but I have plenty of other cool adventures in the pipeline, which I hope people will enjoy! And hopefully I can do it professionally someday ☺️ Thought I will say, in the summertime, McMurdo does offer these Artists and Writers grants, and technically doing something like this could fall under that! That could be a future for this channel on the Ice potentially, especially because there is so much stuff that happens at McM during the summer, between recreation, the science, and just getting away from the station. So we shall see where the future takes us ☺️

Nope! I mean it would but when things like the happen, we can turn off the sensitive equipment. So no worries there! We just try to do things are quickly as possible so we lost as little data as possible. And nah, it's just sleep can be hard down here. He also (much like I do), stays up pretty late. Hah.

July is total darkness! Haha. It was total darkness after like late April. There are just auroras and stuff all the time, which is why it’s so light. And the moon also casts a lot of light. The reason we see so much of the night sky is because it is total darkness ☺️
