There’s something deeply satisfying and relaxing about watching and listening to a soft-spoken Southern lady slowly, calmly, methodically preparing and talking about comfort food. The funny thing is that the satisfaction isn’t stemming from some sort of Southern nostalgia (I’m not Southern or even originally from the U.S.-I’m a Muslim Arab Egyptian immigrant, though admittedly one who has spent nearly his entire adult life in the U.S.). The satisfaction comes from somewhere a lot simpler and which transcends ethnic or national origin or borders: the very basic appeal of a soft-spoken feminine voice with a unique accent, innocently speaking of something as natural and desirable as comfort food, while gently going through the actual ritual of making a simple dish. I don’t have to be Southern to appreciate it and find it very satisfying and relaxing. 😁☺️👍🍲

About three years ago, my daughter's in law and myself were cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Stuffed the turkey and put the leftover dressing in a pan. Somebody left it in the oven too long, and we just left it off to the side, figuring it was ruined. We started picking at it, and it was great when crunchy! This is now a tradition.🤣

When I was a poor college student, I would get bags of this stuffing mix and just eat it as a meal from the stovetop. It was pretty tasty just that way so I can't imagine how good it is like this!!!

It’s so interesting to see how different people make their thanksgiving stuffing/dressing differently. My mom’s and mother-in-law’s recipes are as different as night and day, but they’re both absolutely delicious. My mom adds pork sausage to hers. I really love your cooking videos and the recipes you make. They’re always so relaxing and I’m always super hungry afterward! 😂

Hello! I fully intend to make this today! I’m always looking for something yummy!! Also, one time at the grocery store a lady in front of me at checkout left that exact gravy behind with some other items and it ended up getting packed with my stuff, so that was the first time I ever had been introduced to it - and it IS so good!!

I've always been curious about what "american american " people eat being 2nd gen, so this definitely peaks my interest in this subject. If possible, could you do something on casseroles or stuff with not much milk or cheese? I really want to recreate some of these because I'm genuinely curious about what people eat for the holidays.

I have heard of putting boiled eggs in stuffing. I have never done it but I bet it would be good.

My momma used the same recipe but she didn’t put turkey in hers. She would brown a roll of swaggerty sausage and add to hers before baking it.
