Ahh the old buddy pass. I miss flying for free. My dad worked for American Airlines. We grew up on planes. He passed away in 2008. Besides missing him, I miss cheap airfare - and flying first class. In the old days we had to dress nice and have a jacket and tie for first class. We would always dress for first class in case that was all that was available. What I don't miss is flying stand by and taking less busy flights to avoid getting bumped. Going home from vacation at 8am on a Sunday kinda stinks. All in all it was definitely worth it.

Hello Michael, I'm thinking about becoming an aircraft mechanic. The only thing I'm worried about is the extreme hours. Do you have any suggestions for places to work or how to get regular work hours? Thank you.

I attended four year college for it but you can also complete an 18 month trade school or even get certified through online training. If you are in the USA search for "Become an A&P Mechanic" if outside the USA I recommend contacting local government about the certification process.

James Sullivan Do you really have to go to college and get a 4 year degree?? I’ve seen other channels talk about a two year course... btw I just started getting interested in aircraft mechanics, i feel like this would be an awesome career to work in, if you can please guide me where to start at I would definitely appreciate it
