This engine is literally the representative of what a Steam Engine looks like, as a fan of Both Thomas The Tank Engine and Real engines, I think Flying Scotsman and 4449 are what steam trains should be like.

After successful running the Freedom Train in '76, 4449 was last repainted to her original Daylight colors in 1981, the engine pulling a serval excursions to the Grand Opening of The California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, California 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃

I have a Kato N scale 10 car Southern Pacific Morning Daylight set along with the GS-4 Daylight locomotive number 4449 which is my Excursion train on my Pacific West Coast N scale model railroad that I alternate my other N scale freight & Amtrak Coast Starlight trains.

No, this was 1981. The 4449 didn’t have the NP whistle until 1990.

It’s from Video Rails’ VHS called Southern Pacific Daylight #4449. It is a rare find, and I recently found one one eBay and purchased it! I’ll be sure to upload it for you :)

Two whistles and one air horn. Personally the air horn is my least favorite noisemaker, my most favorite is the SP 6 chime she wore. That whistle sounded absolutely beautiful, in my opinion that’s what a train should sound like.
