It reminds me of that Love, Death + Robots episode where the captain hyperjumps to the wrong place and the alien is projecting reality into his head from his memories to save his psyche. I was always intrigued by that concept.

Adam can act his ass off when he's trying. With the direction of Johan Renck, all signs are pointing to greatness.

This is actually based on a 2017 sci-fi book called "Spaceman of Bohemia."

It’s great to see him doing roles like this. I gotta be honest, watching all he’s films through out the years, it’s great, it’s funny of course. But like all things you tend to get burnt out after awhile. Sandler in a sci-fi suspense? Heck yeah sign me up!!

Reminds me of the movie Moon (2009) which also deals with a guy stuck on a mission in space with a companion of sorts, a wife/kid reason to go back home and lots of weirdness in his head.

This looks fantastic. I'm glad they actually had the balls to make the spider realistic. Feel like a lot of productions would have chickened out and made it look "alien" or something.

The use of more intense, Psychological storytelling is something I just love. It opens up so many opportunities for exploration of the characters and story's meanings and tones, and honestly now media needs to look for new ways to establish artistic expression. Who else is sick of endless sequels and remakes? 🤨 I am intrigued!

After seeing Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, The Hustler, and the Leo animated film, I'm definitely excited to see Adam Sandler in a role that utilizes his acting talents more.

I hope it doesn't have the same twist endung as that that scifi short similar to this where it's actually just feeding on him slowly.

The story is from the Book Spaceman of Bohemia written by Jaroslav Kalfar, i wonder how Adam Sandler got on board, the book is good but not very famous to my knowledge.

This really seems like the movie Moon with Sam Rockwell… only quirkier. Not a bad thing at all.

If you want to see his best semi serious role check out punch drunk love, its as good as uncut gems IMO.

I can only think of two serious roles Adam Sandler has been in, and both times he was fantastic. Spanglish, and Uncut Gems; if you're in the mood for serious Adam, and haven't seen those yet; give em a go.

To be fair the halloween one was great just like Adam said "If i don't win anything for 'Uncut Gems' I'm gonna make the worse movie you all have ever seen" And when looking from that perspective damn i loved it i watched it 2 times already its so bad its good like some cars can look so ugly that they're beautiful.

Reign over me is 1 of the best serious films adam sandler has ever done i never hear people talk about it.

What’s with all the space movies they’ve been pushing. How about you attach a GoPro to an astronaut and we see him go from the rocket ship to the ISS. Tired of everything outer space being CGI the best we get is the same quarter shot of earth every single time. It’s really odd when you watch a space documentary it’s 100% CGI.

I’m interested, either at the end it’s revealed his wife likes spiders and it’s all in his head or it’s actually real and was just messing with his head to kill him

Im thinking the giant spider this is probably a figment of his imagination as a result of him being alone for such a long time. Not sure why would he conjure a spider in his mind as a companion but interesting i guess? IDK, will have to see it

This looks very similar to an Andy Weir novel I recently read called Project Hail Mary. Very good novel by the way.

This was a really good film, for the first time in my life Adam Sandler made a movie which didn't make me want to vomit or kill myself by the time it ended. Still need to watch Uncut Gems.

The trailer is nonsensical and it looks like it will be a mediocre at best movie but we shouldn’t underestimate Adam Sandler. He is a very talented actor, and a good human being. Yes, he plays mostly comedy movies but that doesn’t define who he is or what he is capable of.

Meh the Director is good but Netflix and Adam Sandler make me have no hopes for this. Also, Channing Tatum is a producer which doesn't do any favors either. Only time will tell I guess.

Looks like a good Black Mirror episode

This starts with the little voice in my head saying "hehehehehe Adam Sandler funny". Before too long, I find myself captivated by the emotion on his face and the emptiness in his eyes as it grows more obvious. Floating gently, alone on this journey through space. Envisioning all he left behind. When suddenly.....BAM! space spider. I'm immediately filled with horror and suspense. How did an alien spider get into the ship? Is it friendly? Did he smuggle something up there with him to make the ride a little more interesting?...........Anyway, I think I'll feed Netflix another few bucks when this comes out. 🕷

I'm always a fan of Adam Sandler since I 1st saw him in "Reign Over Me". He is a versatile actor that can do both comedy and drama kinda' like Nic Cage which is awesome.

You should see Adam Sandler’s last drama, Hustle. It is a sports dramedy where Adam Sandler plays an NBA Scout. Cast is great too: Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, Ben Foster, and Robert DuVall. Also, the only film that Adam Sandler has been nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.

So let me guess...on this moon he found these magical mushies....and this is his near-death experience...? 🤣 Hope they've done the spider creature as well as Tchaikovsky in Children of Ruin, eh.

More solo Sandler movies would be cool, I've seen him in other serious stuff and I really liked them. Also, he did Bulletproof in 1996. Kind of a buddy cop movie with Damon Wayans so seeing him do more buddy cop things would be cool. Reign Over Me was a pretty interesting Sandler movie too.

He was very good in Reign Over Me, so he can do serious roles.

I'm not saying that Hubie Halloween was at all good, but what I am saying is that I had a good time with it. It is a movie where you know what you are getting when you watch it. It isn't good, but it is dumb fun.

Was immediately uninterested when I saw Adam Sandler's face in the first ads. Decided to check out the trailer out after all and damn, really looks good. Sandler CAN act, I like him in his more serious roles, same as Steve Carell, much prefer both in serious roles. I wish he made more good, serious movies rather than crappy comedies which only serve as vehicles for him and his friends to spend time/money.

Feeling a bit skeptical about Spaceman. As intriguing as the story seems, the ambiguity of the alien's nature (same way in the book) and the protagonist's unscientific response to such a groundbreaking discovery feels off. You'd expect an astronaut and scientist like Adam Sandler plays to prioritize reporting such a find back to Earth, especially when encountering an alien entity (never tells Earth in the book). The decision to not only withhold this info but also to form a seemingly untroubled bond with a large, alien predator raises more questions than excitement for me. Hope the film addresses these points or detours from the book a bit.

Feels like the spider is gonna eat Adam but they're not gonna go with that narrative and instead Adam is gonna eat the spider.
