I mean, to be fair, the movie looks really cool in the effects and stuff, plus I've seen every other Crow adaptation. I feel like it's a requirement to watch to some degree, but damn man.

It's not a remake. Read the trailer description. It's a reimagining of the original comic/graphic novels that Brandon Lee's film was based on. The films are not related in the slightest outside of sharing the central IP they were based on. Reading and reading comprehension are invaluable skills. Please acquire them.

Hollywood still doesn't quite understand that just because an IP has a cult classic movie that made it popular that doesn't mean that a reimagining, remake, sequel or prequel will be enjoyable, let alone profitable.

Outside of a small, vocal minority on X and other social media, most people do not want to kill the past and everything they grew up with for Marxist ideologies in their favorite/beloved franchises. Furthermore, it only angers them more when "diversity, equity and inclusion" take precedence over quality writing, acting, direction and visual effects. The end goal is to turn people against "progressive" Liberalism so they will seek a leader who will reset things back to the way they were and Make America Great Again by removing Liberals from the Hegelian Dialectic equation. (Liberal Marxist ideologies being the "problem" they are reacting to. Conservative Fascism being the "solution".)

Many ppl are aware that Bill is a great actor. And many ppl are aware that reimaginings can be very different. But the truth of the matter is that Eric Draven's story has already been told. And the 1994 film is a classic for a reason. I saw someone say this before in another comment section. If it had been a new character and/or story, it would be a lot more acceptable. the trailer looks pretty cool if you don't connect it to the 1994 film. But unfortunately it will undoubtedly be compared. A new character would have been so much more appealing than trying to reimagine a story that was already iconically told in the 1994 film.

It sucks because the Skeleton Cowboy was supposed to be in the original 1994 film and they cut him out entirely due to Brandon Lee’s death. Just kinda sucks they didn’t think of bringing that concept back for a reboot.

That's been the main problem with trailers for years. You watch it then when you're watching the movie you know something that's meant to be a major part of the story isn't because you already know what's to come taking all the suspense out of it. I only watched this because I've no intention of watching the movie.

I think a cool way to do movie trailers is to release a screen test. Film a short scene that isn’t actually in the movie so the audience can get a feel for the tone without anything being spoiled. Cuz with this new crow trailer, I feel I just saw the whole movie.

This is my reaction to the trailer as well. It has way too much action -- it feels like the action is the forefront instead of what made the original The Crow movie what it was which was the slow-burn tragedy about love, revenge, and, eventually, hope.

Gotta remember why the crow is even a thing to begin with. A lot the shit in the books is just from O’barr’s life. It feels kinda disrespectful to Lee and O’barr to change something that was so personal to them. I hope whatever changes they make are at least known to O’barr. I have no idea if he was brought in to work on it.

These days when Hollywood claims to be bringing in an OG from a franchise to work on a sequel/reboot, it's only in the most extremely tertiary fashion that the person is involved so the studio is still be able to make the claim that they brought said person in on the project to give it legitimacy without there actually being any involvement.

IMO, his hair in this one is just as different from the graphic novel as the ‘94 look was. It’s just different in the opposite direction.

Forgive me, but I don't remember that. I owned the novels by James O'Barr in the early 90s with Alex Maleev doing the artwork. The original film stayed true to that.

And that is just what I get from the trailer, Imagine what stupidity we see once the full movie comes out.
