Thanks for hosting this! Great information! I would love to hear from her about the visa options in France, Greece, and Italy as well. I have 2 questions/scenarios regarding the non-lucrative visa: 1) if I am a retired person that has a KZfaq channel that generates income to me, do I have to abandon or shut down that channel in order to qualify for the non-lucrative visa (e.g. so that I don’t earn money from the KZfaq channel)? 2) If I am collecting social security but also have a private practice consulting business where individuals will pay me an hourly rate for my consulting services (iow, I don’t have a consulting contract with a company that pays me a set amount of money), will I be able to continue my private practice business while living in Spain on the non-lucrative visa? If not, is there a visa option that I can qualify for as someone with a private practice consulting business? Thanks again for the great information! I love the content!

I have a relationship with Lexidy and will be doing podcasts on each of those countries. The next will be covering Mexico. My understanding is that if you pursue the NLV in Spain, you cannot earn any money. So you would have to pursue a different visa option, possibly Digital Nomad Visa if you will be earning income.

I found this on the web: If you’re a retired expat in Spain, you can still qualify for a public health care scheme known as ‘Convenio Especial.’ This is a national healthcare plan that you have to pay a monthly fee as follows to receive insurance coverage:For persons under 65 years of age: €60 ($65). For persons over 65 years of age: €157 ($172). The ‘Convenio Especial’ will also cover any pre-existing conditions.
