Spanish swear words are very colorful and varied, but be careful if you want to use them. Use them only with close friends or in extreme cases. I am teaching you this for educational purposes, especially because you might hear these curse words and you should be able to identify them.

Many of these curse words are definitely used only in Spain. These ones, pronounced with the spanish accent, sound to us, Latin Americans, exquisite, visceral, musical and delightful... no matter how offensive they may be. Keep up with insulting, swearing and cursing in this fasion, it is really chic! (however, make sure you learn the specific swear words from the country you plan to visit since each country and region have their own ones and may not understand all the Spanish ones)

Pretty much the same words in Cuban Spanish, except for cabron, which means old goat and can be used as a compliment also. I also made the mistake of referring to coconuts as cocos. The girls that were with us had a laugh and pointed out the obvious.

It's also useful when you want to say something nasty, but don't want your co-workers to know what you're shouting. (None of mine speak Spanish. Or German, in which I am most proficient at swearing a blue streak.)

You should have stated that this lesson is only for curse words as used in Spain. Although some of them are "general purpose" throughout the Spanish speaking world, some of them are almost exclusively used in Spain, and have no/different meaning in other Spanish speaking countries. Cheers.

Ahh, now that makes sense, as I only recognized a few (mostly puto/puta and cabron). I've been playing an online videogame with friends in Mexico as well as some Mexican Americans, all guys, and they used some really colorful words. One of them, when he was quite young, would chuckle and not tell me what the words meant, saying it wasn't good for ladies to know them. I said "yeah, but you guys use them all the time, so I should know what you're talking about." The ones I'd hear the most were things like "no mames," or anything starting with "pinche."
@Guillermo.R.S.
@Guillermo.R.S. 4 ай бұрын
@@GoddessPallasAthena Both expressions are typically Mexican. "No mames" literally means "don't suck", and is used in the context of an exclamation typically for surprise, joy, mockery and reprehension. Probably you've heard "No mames, güey (wey)" meaning something like "Gimme a break, dude". "Pinche" is a noun to designate a kitchen hand in the restaurants, but in the normal coloquial speaking is an adjetive whose most accurate translation to English would be "freakin'" or "f***in'", when used before the sentence or to describe something awful afterwards, like "lousy", "damned" etc. Mexicans use both all the time and it tends to lose its strength over time. Take into account that the p* and c* expressions you used in the beginning of your comment are general purpose in Spanish, but stronger in Mexico than in Argentina or Spain, for example, so careful when and with whom you use them. Cheers!

What I find interesting is that such usage evolved, apparently independently, in English, Spanish, and other languages. The usages are so similar, as though deep in our language centers there's some need for it. In my next lifetime, I'd consider a career in linguistics!.

@@javierleybaYes, I'm agree with you. For example in Cuba, Puerto Rico and so on, the word "maricón" is more agressive than "puto" (by the way I never heard it i 7:56 n Cuba) And we have another expression for the lesbians that don't have the same effect in Central America and Mexico: "tortillera". Never say that to a cuban woman, so be careful. We use the same spanish language but not the same slang!

Some people just don't realize how relaxing it can be when a woman curses. There's something about it that allows you to relax and just communicate freely. It's when people get their panties in a wad being politically correct that ruins things. Or when possibly some instantly jump into inappropriate sexual advances. I have met quite a few attractive Spanish women a bit young for me but beautiful . I laugh as I listen to you thinking omg can't use this as my first Spanish conversation thinking of shock on their faces I need more Spanish lessons. This video put me in a great mood excellent thank you!!!

Yo también. Grew up in So. California and first exposed to the Spanish language around 2nd grade (I'm 70) when teacher would wheel in a tv in time for a 30 min. lesson from a woman with beautiful diction. Spanish through high school. When we married, honeymooned in San Jose Del Cabo. Got off the plane there expecting to be met by a hotel car. Airport was deserted. When I figured out how to make change from a machine, call the hotel from a pay phone & explain the problem IN SPANISH, I told my wife (this was 1988) that we'd be ok. And we were. I even taught my wife (she learned German in school) how to order food & ask for the bill by the end of our stay.

Muy divertidas esas explicaciones -y, es más, utiles. Dicho eso, se debe notar también que esas palabras y expressions son del Español de España. En otros paises de habla hispana se puede encontrar otras. ¡Carajo! Y mil gracias por esta presentación, señorita.
@robert111k
@robert111k 4 ай бұрын
