I love "Pero Like" videos and I use them in my Spanish linguistic courses. While I get what you peeps are doing here (especially your message at the end), to say that these are "Spanish words that don't exist" (e.g., parquear, poloche, lonche) is more complicated. The fact that many people use these words means that they do exist, especially in a Spanish in the U.S. context. Because words don't appear in some "official" dictionary does not mean they don't exist. Not sure what was your criteria. Just to note that languages are always changing and incorporating borrowings from other languages.

@@jhonyermo technically, it does they add these words over time in the dictionary which then promts those teaching the langauge weather its parents, teachers and forit to be used normally online, in books, magazines and everywhere else. They kinda set the stage for what words get offical word status. Same for english with words like mansplain and meme they have now become officail words as of now.

You forgot: *brequiar* for brake, the correct Spanish word is, "frenar". *quequi* for 🍰 cake, the correct Spanish word is, "pastel". *fil* for 🏕 field, the correct Spanish word is, "campo". *bika* for 🚴🏼‍♀️ bicycle, the correct Spanish word is "bicicleta". *troca* for 🚛 truck, the correct Spanish word is "camioneta" (truck) or "furgoneta" (van) . *bas* for 🚌 bus, the correct Spanish word is, "camión". But, before you criticize the Spanlish speakers, remember that Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, & Romanian, all derived from Latin. So, all of these people are speaking a vulgar form of Latin. 🌺

That is why, thought English Technically a Germanic language, Most of its words come from Latin. Why? 200 years as a Roman Colony. 1066 that little brouhaha when the French conquered England. From French true enough but still Latin from French. Thus many Latin derived cognates between English and Spanish. English = 60% Latin, 25% German, Greek 5%. Other 10%.

Panamanian words would be: Cuara: quarter of dollar Wachiman: watch man Camaron: to look for a job. This is because when USA had the Panama Cabal and the Zona Libre and Panamanians went there looking for a job US people use to say: Come around! Cause there was the place where they actually could find a job. Arraiján: is actually the name of a place. And when the USA had control of Panama, Panamanians used to look for and address to follow and Americans said: oh go to right hand! We have lonche as well. And many more 😂😂😂 Saludos desde Panamá🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦

When I was younger I lived in NY, near Long Island. We're Bolivian Today my family was reminiscing on the good old days in NY when I realized... For the first time in my life... That they don't say "Long Island". They call it " Lonailan". I just heard Long Island my whole life without realizing we had a Latino made-up word for the place.

Mixing English words to Spanish in Puerto Rico it’s preeeetty common. Even the people that’s not fluent in English use Spanglish words in the island 😂🇵🇷 Examples: parking, corn flakes, closet, sandwich, popcorn, hot dog and the list goes on and on. And it’s weird for us if you say “guarda eso en el ARMARIO” instead of “guarda eso en el CLOSET” 😂 (I even had to look up in google how to say closet in Spanish lolllll)

oh man, among my favorites are "troca" for truck, and a Salvadoran favorite: "cora" as in, dos coras (two quarters) or 50¢. El Salvador has been using United States currency officially for some time now, so this is a popular thing to hear in the street market.

A few more from the border: Charmin (the ch as in charm) - toilet paper, any brand Kleness - facial tissue, any brand Ko-kola - any fizzy soda drink Carpeta - carpet Una luz - light bulb Un fang - a fan We also use un poquito to describe any amount of anything that’s a much smaller amount of the whole thing we’re talking about. So, a ten ton slab of concrete may have some steel reinforcement, but it’s really un poquito de steel compared to the concreto. Órale!
