He seems like a great sparring partner to train with to have such a reach and still have the speed. He also had great mixups and feints. My favorite combo is the hook-backfist one. I've been using this for a while. The backfist doesn't usually have KO power but it's something they have to keep track of and also covers their sight for the next attack.

Hello Jeff, cool video as always. Could you ever do a video on (best) combos/ways to land the uppercut? I think I stole from your videos the combo doubling up on the right: Right body hook, right uppercut and damn it really works like a charm in infight sparring (even though I think copyright is from Mike Tyson :P ) I have the feeling the uppercut is one of the most damaging punches as you land flush on the chin...would love to see more ways to land it. I am 6’1 with a 76” reach and fight at 135. Could honestly probably make 125. Crazy thing is we have another guy at our same gym who is around my height with a 72” reach who is a really good 125er. Keep an eye out for us. Combat Sport and Fitness Reno.

Can I ask you something? I'm a 5'7 guy trying to fight at either 145 or 135. I'm 165 15% body fat right now, so I'm a short stocky boy lol My question, do you feel like when it comes to grappling you're as strong as someone my height even though you're considered "skinny"? Also, what are some tactics you use to avoid the takedown against shorter fighters?
