@@mtjguitarsHave you tried the WGS-12C (very close the Jensen), Cannabis Rex, or Retro 30 (Vintage 30 based)? These 3 along with the Celestion G12H30 are my favorites. I need to get them to test all at the same time!

I switched out the stock speaker long ago to a g12h-75, to me Fender + Creamback is heaven.

I got rid of the stock speaker. Put in a Eminence JS50. Sounds great.

thats not a Supersonic 22 that is a 60. The 22 never used those grapics or logo - the vibrolux/bassman switch was SS 60, not the 22. Not to mention the 60 came withe Vintage 30's, the 22's had Eminence speakers(Jensen clone)....

I picked the G12H from your video too. Thinking about a new speaker for my Peavey Bravo. A 2 channel tube amp from 91. Not a lot of videos with different speakers.

I hear you, speaker comparisons are always tough! I was thinking the Bravo was one of those transtube amps like the Bandit, Rage, etc. If it is anything like the Bandit then I'd imagine people really like the stock speaker in that amp. If it is a similar tone then perhaps watch some Peavey Bandit 112 speaker comparisons and go off of that?

I liked the G12H as well, over all nice, however there is always something about Vintage 30's that I like, it has something to do with the how lead notes have this bright edge that cuts through. To me the Vintage 30 seems the most American (Jensen'ish) sounding British speaker. There Vintage 30 cone seems tight and usually handles very super high distortion without getting fizzy cone breakup, low distortion its seem a bit harsh do to stiff cone..

@@philchapman1463 that is a good point. Vintage 30 does not always sound the best in the room to me, but I tend to always like it best in the recording or in a mix

Would be interested in the Celestion Alnico Gold - one of my favorite speakers - will tryout with my Super Sonic 22 :-) which has a Warehouse Retro 30 right now.

I've never owned one but that would be a great option for a shootout because I understand it is a distinct voice from the other Celestion speakers. Is the Retro 30 a Vintage 30? Ultimately, I didn't really like the Super Sonic 22 so I didn't keep that amp.

I have the g12 h in my 2x12 cab. And my blues jr. I would describe it as a speaker with excellent u dymanics

I have found blues jr. to be a bit too mid-rangey for my taste (perhaps it is EL84s that I don't like.) The G12H could be a really good compliment to that amp!

@@mtjguitars they are killer for any dark sounding amp. That's where I get a driving overtone with slight distortion. I stay away from my mids. Just seems to come alive with this speaker. I'd love own a supersonic. I also have a 2x12 with Jensen p12n's. The clarity and chime work for me. Also a 40 watt alnico blackbird. That's what I'd use with supersonic

That looks like a supersonic 60 not 22 the 22 has a 4 button footswitch

It is a 22 and it has a 4 button switch.

I have the super sonic 22 and the stock speaker sucks. I found this comparison awesome because I want to replace the speaker. Gotta say the g12 h was the best all round . My second choice was the v 30 thirty wich was good too

Thanks! I ended up with the G12H in my Marshall Origin 50. It is perfect for that amp!
