Disguise self shouldn't even work. The corpse doesn't see anything only hearing is restored. You would just need to be able to act assuming they ever heard you talk in life.

Forever grateful that I went with a Circle of Spores Druid for my first run of the game. Went into character creation totally blind and ending up choosing the class that automatically gives you access two two of them super early (Speak to Animals is available to all druids at Lv. 1 + Detect Thoughts as the Lv. 3 Circle Spell) with the remaining one being easy to get with the Amulet of Lost Voices. Cannot imagine how the playthrough would have gone without them

There's so much in this game. But not telling her about the brothers after saving her and killing the hag, and telling her the hags plans, isn't an option. That one I don't understand

And shes designed and animated so well, her eyes and nose and such are so creepy when she's alive

Larian told us that you can animate almost, almost every single corpse in the game. This was sometime last year however, so it may have changed but it's something to think about.

@@plamenyonkov9154 Yah, if you combine the necklace that gives you “Speak to Dead” that you get in the ruined crypt right near the crash (at Withers location) with say Shadowheart’s “Disguise Self” from her Trickery Domain cleric spells… you’re sweet and all good to go.

@Raistlin 34 I read, according to lore when one of them dies, the others dissove the coven and move on or find a new member. I assume they will know what happened if one lets Auntie mess with their eye. Or from that eyeball pendent she wears, they could have witnessed every interaction you had with her. Hag's eyes are not something one wants to mess with as they're used for communication and monitoring areas.

No she keeps the sass even if you’re a stranger. She only acts like a normal corpse if you remove the charm she has on her (the same one the narrator mentions right at the beginning of the video)

If you spare her slaves, one of them tell you that there is others hags in Baldur's Gate.

Not necessarily. Fey creatures operate outside of a good/bad dichotomy, if anything she just did what is natural for her as a hag which is to prey on desperate people. She doesn’t see herself as cruel in the same way a lion doesn’t see itself as cruel when it kills an antelope

@@jackshefrin2639 There's an entire book on Hags that explicitly states them to be evil creatures. It's a fully sapient creature.

They didn't add anything I noticed trying it out in early access that it specifies that her amulet glows when you get these lines of dialogue Now I've got the full game I took her amulet before speaking to her and you just get the usual questions, answers like her soul was already gone

I find that it varies a bit, but the way I did it was by coming prepared for her invisibility. I used create water to drench her after my first turn, making her visible and allowing me to 3rd level witchbolt her for like 40-50 damage. By that point my monk was able to make short work of her before she was able to get away

Kind of. But Gaunter's wishes were more monkey paw-ish rather than totally screwing the person. ie if you asked for riches, Gaunter would give you that. But you'd lose something. Whereas I feel like Ethel wouldn't give you that and would just turn you into gold or something.

@@efaristi9737 After multiple playthroughs, the only way I'm aware of to get the Hag's Hair is to let here live at the end of the battle in her lair. If that wasn't your experience I would appreciate the details.

@@efaristi9737 That would eliminate the morale choice involved. I was letting the Hag take Mayrina for the ability point until I learned that she planned on eating the baby.

You can easily kill her before she escapes.

For me when I played this section I just stealth non lethal attack her in human form it will knock her "real" form unconscious so you can take your time beating her to death but was my experience maybe I just got a lucky crit with my +1 dagger?

If your tav has see invis you can surround her before she escapes, and the redcaps arrive

I love characters like her, she twists things around but nobody made them seek her out or convince them her bargains are a good idea. Dealmakers are the best kind of villain hahaaha, they're not bad, all they did was give you "exactly" what you asked for.

@@Rhoen13 She does make peoples seek her, she literally was the one that infected the dwarf with a incurable disease so he would have no choice but accept her deal and be turned to stone. Also, her letter reveal that one of her "clients" was actually send to her by her hag sisters.

​@Rhoen13 The whole "gotta be specific with your wish" shtick is just malevolent in this case. If it's an inanimate object or something that doesn't have any real intelligence that's granting the wish, then that's understandable for being specific. But in the case the wish granter is an intelligent creature that knows exactly what you want, intentionally twisting the terms to punish the client is just evil.

When we're desperate, we stop thinking things through-or start doing mental gymnastics to justify something we'd never normally do. We desperately want a miracle, and they know it. These kind of characters are great lesson in staying vigilant, and the "if its too good to be true, it probably is" proverb. People WILL prey on you if given the opportunity, and sometimes that devil looks just like you or me.

Its the charm. If you loot it, she is more akin to a typical corpse. Cast speak with undead before taking the charm and you get this. Actually a nice touch.

It's actually pretty accurate. Hags, at least in DnD 5E, reproduce via stealing a newborn infant or a fetus close to being born, eating it, then giving birth to a "normal" daughter about a week later. After about 13 years, whether or not the child was raised by the hag or left as a cruel joke, she will transform into another hag of the mother's kind. Ethel was correct in telling Mayrina that the child would learn magic, but she conveniently left out the fact that said child would become a hag while doing so. Pretty smart plan Ethel had, tricking Mayrina, but easy enough to spot if you know enough about hags.
