It’s not harder it’s just not neutral Spanish. Each dialect has its own phrases and ways of saying things not just Dominican Spanish

@@Piano_Kid90 think of the 100+ dialects of english that exist in just the USA and Britain. Plus the others in oceania, india, africa and latin america. Does that mean you can’t speak with those people?

@@nickolausheinzman that’s how I look at it. Social Media is always fun to look at but some people let themselves get overwhelmed when they forget the same or similar things exist in their own language. Understanding tht you should always START with learning how to speak the standard form of the language and picking up the additional pieces relevant to you is key to efficiently learning to an advanced level.

@@KF22TV eh, youre wrong about the standard form thing. It’s probably best to learn latin american spanish if you live in the USA. And it’s best to learn american english if youre a columbian looming to immigrate to the USA

There’s a Dominican girl I work with and she speaks Spanish to me. I’m always pausing and say huh? I speak fluent Spanish but I’m Mexican so it’s tuff sometimes

My Dominican homie says all of these and it’s funny cause I’m not Latino but my wife is Mexicana and I also grew up with Mexicanos. So whenever him and I speak Spanish to each other, we’re always tryna tell each other whose right and whose wrong😂😂😂

Recuerdo una vez que un cliente mío me enseñó la palabra "funda" para decir "bag." Otro día, un compañero de trabajo mío me dió que "bolsa" significa "bag." El compañero era de Colombia, así que ese cliente debería sido dominicana.

Dominican Spanish is also normal Spanish. You're just using Dominican slangs. And cuarto is a coin used back then. It was also used in Spain. Smh.

Que lo que comes from (Que es lo que es) Táto comes from (EsTa Todo bien) Cualto comes from (Cuarto) which means a quarter of (in colonial times Cuartos was the currency of DR), Chin is a Taino Word, Jevy comes from the English word Heavy,Funda comes from Arabic, Quilla’o is literally Quillado, Dominican Spanish is 100% spanish

Eso no es verdad, en ambos paises se usa el mismo español. Las palabras del video solamente son usadas por la gente vulgar. Yo en lo personal, no uso ese tipo de expresiones y palabras cuando hablo, me gusta hablar con más formalidad, y uso un español estándar.

“Normal Spanish versus…” Versus is two syllables, not one. You’re saying “verse” but you want to say versus. So many people are doing this now, even lawyers who should absolutely know it’s a two-syllable word.

Dominican people can speak regular Spanish. It is mostly around family and friends or in informal places that they speak slang or in codes.

Puerto Rico and DR are the most influenced by their Taino and African ancestors. However I'mma be honest the whole Caribbean dialect(so Venezuela, some parts of Panama and the coast of Colombia included) you're gonna get the same vibe

That's not normal Spanish either, that's Mexican Spanish. The neutral Spanish is Spain's Spanish.

There's no such thing as "neutral spanish" especially with the spanish that is spoken in the Spain was only spoken in the northern part of the country, the Southern part of it are the ones who went to the America's and took their speaking there. Not only that but the Andalusia region and Canary Islands speak closer to the Caribbean than they do Spain
