I 100% agree with you! I absolutely love RG and I’ve followed him since Indy and NASCAR days. I think what he’s trying to do with these cars is super rad and I have a lot of respect for him, but I just think he kind of jumped the gun on releasing the car by a few years. If had waited just a little bit longer I think they would’ve had the time cross all the T’s and dot the i’s, but instead he wanted the money from consumers to fund the project and is now back pedaling and making himself and the car look bad by doing things like this IMO. Do I think this car is going to be a game changer? Yes. But by the time he is able to release these cars they’re going to be outdated. Is it a unicorn? Ehh debatable. Is it a badass car that I’m willing to pay $45k for? Ehh possibly. But maybe in a couple years once al the major bugs are worked out. If I were Robby and showed up to the show with that car on display I would’ve been pissed and the guy in charge would be gone.

I understand shit breaks on polaris and can am but think about the absolute crazies out there driving them and beating the shit out of them! This video was horrible for SpeedUTV. So much hype for soooooo long and it broke off of a "simple" jump. I get that's it pavement and is less forgiving, but if not a bulletproof frame and stout suspension, what have they been doing for so long?! I get manufacturing and logistics.....but really, if they dont have at least the literal framework down, wtf?! I get he's RBG, but it seems like the Speed UTV is doing what Toyota did with the new Tundra, they released something with so much hype, but took so long that it's just another product at the same level as the competitors. Anyways, I do hope they're as awesome as they say they're going to be. And when they come out, I still wont be able to afford one lol! What the hell have they been doing for so long, and why on earth would you use a “pre-production” car instead of the actual machine that consumers are actually buying?? Oh that’s right… They’re coming from China and he can’t get it shipped out here fast enough. I mean car manufacturers like ford, Chevy, Toyota or whatever else have thousands upon thousands of cars that are still sitting there collecting dust because they can’t get enough chips, ECU’s or whatever it is that they’re waiting for from China. What makes him think that he’s going to be getting complete cars from overseas in a timely matter? He can’t… and people will still be waiting for a car they ordered 5-6 years ago. It’s al pretty ridiculous if you ask me! When he first sold the idea he made it seem as if he was going to be making these cars in his own shop in the US. Instead he’s flipped and turned to China. Who knows whats really going to happen at this point! As far as I know he still hasn’t released any kind of statement as to what happened and whatever kind of smoke he’s going to blow up the peoples a*s’s about how it was a fluke thing, and this isn’t the car you’re actually gonna get… blah blah blah. It just sucks because I honestly had high hopes and expectations from him and this car.

Robby also said these cars were to be delivered 2 years ago… I don’t know about you, but have you seen his “garage”? It’s a shop. Not his race shop in NC but, in any one of his homes.. He has all the best equipment, not to mention some of the best fabricators in the business to make, fix and create some of the best off-road cars in the business. It’s all just a ploy to get more people to invest to cover his ass because he oversold and under delivered. Excuses and presentations is all he does. It’s sad at this point honestly. He says his first few cars will be delivered in 5-8 weeks. Honestly as most people would probably be happy about finally getting their cars, I would be scared not knowing what is going to fail first. If he knew the product he was showing off wasn’t good enough, why show it off? It doesn’t make sense… Just plain bad marketing in my opinion.

He should have just awaited to release the production of it till he had in to the point he does now. Then there is a New roumer out he is saling out Highsun or how ever you spell it but who knows! I was dumb enough to buy in to it so not my problem but of course smart people never get the first year model of anything as there is always bugs to work out in a completely new model!

Very true! Robby is an amazing driver period. But these cars are YEARS beyond the original promised delivery date. Robby just keeps prolonging the process. The poor people that have dropped money on these things… I just feel bad at this point. They feed him money, and he feeds them constant BS. I’m sure these cars are going to be amazing, but this isn’t a good look for him at this point.

It being a 110 weld or not, it still shouldn’t have broken like that. Also, if he knew it could possibly be a weak point, then why jump it and put it through some very mild abuse when these are supposed to be “race cars” out of the box? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe don’t run your “pre-production” car and use what customers are actually spending their hard earned money on? Poor marketing in my opinion.

@@STOKED2SHRED2 110 mig to be more exact.he also didnt fill weld a hole in the middle too. Im wondering why it was done the way it was done in the first place. All his test cars were fine. Ive never 110 mig welded, but i know my 110 spot welder sucks balls and gets no penitration. Clearly his welds had no penitration and ripped clean off. His tabs and tubing are thicker than all other manufacturer, so im personaly not worried. Not the best move beat the hell out of the one he knew had junk home welds though.

Why is he fixing cars in his home garage? He has state of the art shop with professionals that can weld. Thought he was supposed to be all about quality control. What’s acceptable versus not acceptable. Clearly needs to raise standards.. I also would not call that demo “beating the hell out of” that’s lightly slapping at best.

I agree!!! I was definitely expecting a lot more aggressive driving from Robby. Giving the people who spent a ton of money on one of his cars a really good show! Instead they watched it break.
