Если я правильно понял технологию изготовления полого шарика, то чтобы сделать его максимально аккуратно, нужно сделать распечатку с двумя такими шариками. (Разница в заданных диаметрах будет толщиной сферы) И типо собрать одну половинку шарика и на ней собирать полусферу. Можно добавить шкалу на меньшего диаметра шарик(можно это как-то написать, а можно фломастером или наоборот тонким карандашём нанести уже на распечатку) главное, чтоб она была с обох сторон(на сфере и на шарике, который мы из неё вырежем). Желательно первый моток скрутить не разрезая. Размотать до первых оборотов трёх(чтоб типо максимально сохранить ось накручивания) и уже тогда разрезать их на полушар и полусферу. Оба скрутить и зафиксировать, пытаясь ориентироваться на нарисованные шкалы. Они должны постоянно совпадать. Если получится сделать так, чтоб центры и концы мотков совпадали (по сути, чтоб если их поставить друг на друга, они стояли на своих местах, как при распечатке), то тогда это идеальный вариант и можно небеспокоясь скручивать полушарик из уже разделённой распечатки. И на этом полушарике делать полусферу нужной толщины.

Honestly it's art, and i wouldn't consider It useless. Maybe in a "practical" sense It's useless in the sense that it doesn't make something easier or permits to create new things you couldn't before, but what piece of art does?

@kevin - this is the vlog you're looking for. It might be worth starting with some easier papercraft projects, after a bit of experience, all of the techniques used become obvious here. Even if you ignore the math 😅

"length" is a distance over which the new stripe width is calculated

this is an increment for the distance for which width is calculated. In that example width is calculated for each 10mm of length, i.e. for 0mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm etc

а как распечатать из таблицы развертку?

насколько я помню, та развертка что в эл. таблице - не в масштабе. Но если нужно именно её распечатать, думаю можно скачать xlsx файл, открыть его в каком-нибудь редакторе, объект-картинку вынести либо на отдельный лист, либо в текстовый редактор, и уже оттуда печатать
