I never seem to grow enough parsnips and I always say I must grow more. But by the time they germinate it’s too late to sow more. They don’t always germinate very well so I am always thrilled to get any👍😊

I have never tasted parsnips, but I love curry and this may spur me to double dig part of my garden in order to grow parsnips and carrots. I haven't had any luck growing root veg except in a bucket so far, but this year I'm determined!

Lovely video, Vivi. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and brightening a winter day here. It is wonderful to see you up on your feet and enjoying cooking your own soup again. I'll have to give this one a try with the little bit of parsnip I have left...my garden is so tiny that it didn't get to yield many of them this year but each one is a delicious treat. Hubby isn't a veg eater so they are mine, all mine. Now pumpkins, however...I have many of them still and if you have any future pumpkin recipes coming that would be awesome! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and keep healing brilliantly.

Vivi, I'm so glad to see you recovering so quickly without any problems. Yes, just be extra careful with walking. We don't want any slip and falls. And yet we don't want to be so fearful that there's no adventure in your life. I suspect that's not going to happen. This is another recipe that made it to my homestead recipe page on my personal Blog. I really like your cooking soup recipes. They are all basic recipes without any exotic procedures or ingredients. Just good food. Thank you for sharing your soup knowledge with us. May you recovery continue to speed toward normal life. Have the best Christmas and New Year ever. Nebraska Dave

Hi Vivi, The soup looks yummy. Love all the new recipes I'm getting from you and some with veg I've never tried before your opening a whole new world of veggie's i wouldn't of tried before. Your going to have to make a lose weight soup or salad for me before long LOL but i'm loving every bit of it right now. Push then pull those parsnips *thank you* Sean. You took the words right out of my mouth when you said i like it hot but not so hot that i can't taste the food anymore.I'm know for saying that at work. Glad your feeling better and hope you can make it to the plot and enjoy every minute of it when you do. Thanks for sharing Vivi.

Hi Vivi. This was my 3rd year growing parsnips and it's so great to have them fresh out of the garden rather than the dried up ones from the grocery store. I've been enjoying them pureed straight or mashed with potatoes. Now I'm excited to try them in your soup! Are these recipes you show ones that you've developed yourself?

Nice one Vivi. Just made a big pan of soup using your recipe as a base. I swapped out the potato for a little hooligan squash , lightly roasted with the parsnips. That soup will make you better pronto! I use that much garlic easily when I do my soups too. I love tons of garlic in my soups too. The turmeric and chili and garlic etc combo...that'll kick it's butt. I have no parsnips left so might have to go to the store. Not supposed to eat them right now but I can't avoid all carbs in veggies all the time. I feel like the veggies are out during the seasons we are supposed to have them and that's all part of nature's design so having a hard time avoiding carrots and parsnips and squash. nomnomnommmm. lol. I hope you feel all better soon. get in some protein. :)

Not related to parsnips, but adorable. hopefully. My son is 13months almost, and while I was able to put his big sister (who was delightfully average sized) in a sling to nurse while I did things around the house... he's just too big. So I sit and watch gardening videos! Today, he's decided that you can see him? Like skype with grandma? He keeps getting distracted from the matter at hand with giggling and waving so I think we'll sit here and rewatch a few more.
