The theft of the lilies is sad and shameful. It's hard to process stuff like this - "small" in terms of the actual physical loss, but big and troubling in terms of our disappointment and disgust with some fellow humans. At such times I try just to be glad that I am nothing like these people, would never behave so poorly. We can hold our heads high Vivi, you especially.

How demoralising to lose your emergency fund like that, but thank goodness you had one. I have a couple too, one of which is for vet bills since we have a few rescues. Mine is proving its worth today as I am faced with a $2,000 vet bill for a serious out-of-the-blue illness. It will wipe out the funds in the emergency account but at least it is there. That is a beautiful view from your window, all that open sky and the tree tops below. And as a lover of most yellows, I think those curtains are so cheerful and mood-brightening.

Oh dear the roof. So glad it was discovered our friend had the side of his house actually collapse a few years ago narrowly missing his neighbour. It actually made the local news it crushed the mans car he'd just got out of! Sorry its such a big expense for you. You definitely could do without that. We just had our roof replaced and a chimney had to be taken down when they stripped the roof back as it was in such a poor state. Our house being so old too. But you definitely have to trust your builders as you say your totally in their hands.pretty curtains. Light through yellow curtains as in the lovely song by Joni Mitchell. I’ve been in the same position Viv with having to have a new roof and part ceiling replaced due to storm damage, which the insurance wouldn’t cover (not even the contents damage) because they said the wind was 1mph less than their standard for a claim so I’m having to fund it all myself. Like you, I only have a basic income and live alone and have saved a little each month. This expense will nearly wipe 2 savings I had in place for emergencies and new items that might break. It’s so infuriating isn’t it, all that scrimping for so long and it’s nearly all gone. Still onwards and upwards - saving now for paint to do the newly plastered ceilings. 🫣 at least I will be dry for winter and no more falling over buckets catching water! 😊👍

There is an old saying that if you want a plant someone has to grow for you, you don't ask for a cutting you nip a cutting, but not the whole plant.
@anitavinesett31802 күн бұрын
Hello Lovely Vivi, So sorry to hear about and see the nipping of your beautiful Lily plants they didn't just take the one but both of them. My granddaughter's name is Lily and I remember years ago telling you she was watching with me and when you said something about the lily she thought we're talking about her awe memories. It's a shame that someone took it upon themselves to decide that everything including things in the ground growing is up for grabs. I worry about your lavender now and that it is a cash crop you will need. Maybe Gary can keep a eye out for you when he is there or a polite note saying that everything in the ground is still yours till the plot is taken over by someone else. No need to explain yourself about how you sounded when talking about it.... it's YOURS. Love the curtains..Thank you Lisa for gifting them to Vivi. If not used for curtains they would make a lovely throw for your couch a pop of cheerful color to see if you are having a down day. Fingers crossed for finding a fixer upper with charm and character that you can put your own stamp on. As always.. Much Love from across the Pond 💞

Vivi I would've been mad as well about the tree lilies and then someone asking if I had anything to give away. I would think universal manners would not have anyone ask for such before being offered. Anyway, those drapes are absolutely beautiful!! I love them!! That was so kind of your viewer to send them to you. Such a bummer about the roof but it'll be a good selling point at least and so will the gorgeous Welsh slate tiles. I hope you're enjoying your evening. I'm off to enjoy my birthday 🎂. Yay! Hello dear Vivi, I feel your frustration. How awful for someone to take the plants without perhaps asking first. As always, the vultures circulate to see what pickings there are. Glad you were able to pass so much of your precious gardening items to the people who were important to you and also donate some to the community shed for all to share as and when needed. You are such a generous lovely lady. Such a great shame you have had to utilise some of your new house contents funds for the unexpected roof repairs. It seems you have had a few unexpected expenses of late. I too have had one or two and have this past week had to bung out on rising damp repairs here at my little cottage in the Broads.The curtains you were sent were beautiful and will look great in your new home as and when. Such a kind gesture to be send them. I always have the positive attitude of there is always something good around the corner and usually there is. Sending big hugs as always, Sophie. XXX
