@@chrisdaughen5257 Based on how Mizuki became a psyncer and the ending of the Mizuki Route as a whole, I suspect nirvanA Initiative stems from the Mizuki ending rather than the True Ending. If that's the case, then it would be far weirder for Date to look different than how he appears here. EDIT, SPOILERS: Okay I was wrong. It was a mask and this is confirmed to be the True Ending.

Around the time of the New Cyclops Serial Killings, in November 2019, Boss said that there are 6 psyncers, one of which is Date. But since Ryuki's side take place around 2020, there's a possibility that he is amongst the 5 unknown psyncers and that he, along with the others, were off the case (Probably because as Boss said, she put Date on it because he knew Shoko) or ABIS recruited him after the case closed.

I saw the suits and yeah that definitely the VLR suits, but I wonder if that might be the "character model to hide a different spoilery character" outfit, like how marvel sometimes edits their trailers to take out surprise characters. Based on Ai1 being set in 2019, this would be in 2025, making it take place two years before 999. So theoretically it cooooooould be Akane... but I can't imagine this crew relating to Akane's goals at that point.

@@chrisdaughen5257 idk I think he'd probably be rather traumatised after the whole saito incident. So would mizuki. I can't imagine him deciding to "keep the look". Maybe it's another timeline

They explain in the game why he looks that way, and I will say that it does seem to take place after the Final/"True" ending. Unless they throw me a curve ball mid way through the story or something. Honestly, they also probably did this since the voice actor for the original body is charged for a crime, so they just used an excuse to use the voice actor for Saito's body instead.

@@yashbhuiya7156 That doesn't make sense. Voice actors arent their characters, they can easily be recast. I doubt the developers would go through the trouble for one VA, especially if it's one being localized in another language.

I mean this can be explained with other timelines. what really confuses me is that iris is still alive.

I was thinking this is a new timeline that would explain the look. Because remember in part one there are like 10 or more timeline with there own ending. So this game could take place in one of does, the next can take place in the timeline with the real ending.
