These days its common to have 15 songwriters working on one song but back then Mike Stock and Aitken wrote hundreds of songs and had many hits. That is real talent. Only The Beatles did more than Mike Stock and Aitken for popular music. I think The Beatles had No1, 2, 3, 4, 5, +7 in the charts all in the same week for UK and the US billboards which will never be topped. Many of the Hit factory songs were really well crafted music even though they sound simple. hat is the difficult thing with pop...it has to sound simple and a great melody or the public reject it yet you have to hide the sophistication in the music otherwise you can't find a great melody. Sometimes you get lightning in a bottle and that was SAW for sure.

Loved the 80s (& its music) - Cant say S,A & W bring back too many good memories from that era,i'm afraid.It all sounded the same to me.I do like this fella though,he comes across as a really nice bloke.
