Beyoncé changes her aesthetic with every drop. I first noticed it when she was had the Black Power aesthetics. She ride waves/trends. She did it with the Orishas/African spirituality aesthetics. She’s done with the Black/African aesthetics, she’s the wife of a rich oil tycoon in Texas until Act III 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

Bey-haw! I knew the album was coming when I saw her at the Grammys. Looking like she just robbed a stage coach. The colors Beyonce has been choosing seem purposeful. She knows they make her look way lighter than normal, and she's playing that up.

Even you don't believe that. Beyoncé is an amalgamation OF black culture; representing her father's lineage and her mother's simultaneously. She cannot cosplay as herself. She IS pop, country, and rock. She IS black culture. Other than having blonde hair and light skin (she was born with), she isn't doing anything so 'egregious' to warrant the constant dismissal of her naturally complex identity. Beyoncé has done everything except sell-out. She is not cosplaying; she is experiencing the fullness of her lineage.

I agree that Beyonce is indeed talented, but it's unfair to criticize someone for not knowing the origins of country music. The fact that black people have not been given enough recognition in the country music industry is a problem that predates Beyonce's interest in the genre. It's important to acknowledge and support the contributions of black people in country music, and not just wait for a mainstream artist like Beyonce to bring attention to it.

I’m team Beyhive all day. Queen Beyoncé is a icon. K Michelle said nothing but nice things about Queen Beyoncé and being supportive of her. Also Texas Hold is a hit. I like it over the other song 16. You know Queen Beyoncé is always 3 step ahead. She knows what she doing. Y’all will be ok. Also Act 3 is definitely Rock N Roll and she will be following Tina Turner. Who one of Queen Beyoncé idols. Also Queen Beyoncé did Tina Turner tribute every night on her last tour last year. Y’all know Queen Beyoncé don’t do the same thing twice. Also Taylor Swift had the Grammys for her music drop. So Queen Beyoncé said she take the superbowl music drop. Team Beyhive.

I'm all for trying out different genres of music bc that's what musicians do. But parlaying with this imagery, I'm not for it cause it's giving you have to look a certain way to fit in this genre aka assimilation!! There are black country musicians that's in the genre for real and don't change themselves to look ytish.

Beyonce is definitely giving Kylie jenner. And, I'm surprised by the songs she chose to release. They are very blah, like throwaway songs. Being that beyonce has access to the best of the best writers and producers, and this is her country debut, she would have came out with a blast. Some uptempo and power anthems. In the realm of a shania twain's "I feel like a woman", dolly parton's "9 to 5" or the country equivalent of "crazy in love".

It does appear that Beyonce's trying to reclaim current popular music that was created by Black folks, and I can appreciate that. As for her "passing for white" to "flip the genres on their heads and get access to those spaces as a Black person," I think all that will do is make it more difficult for mono-racial Black folks who don't look like Beyonce or who aren't racially ambiguous and/or multiracial to be accepted into those spaces. She'll just end up being the standard for how a "Black" country artist needs to present themselves to become popular and successful. Regardless of her motivation for the new look, it'll shake out however it's going to for future or existing Black country artists. In the meantime, I do hope that ACT III is Rock & Roll. I am very confident that she'll turn that out.

beyonce is no different than many other artists who have jumped on the country album bandwagon, I enjoyed Kylie's golden country album, Keith Urban has always blended country with other genres from the beginning of his career in the 90's and he's even included Rhythm and blues in his songs and he's always respected and acknowledges where the genre comes from, Nelly respects the genre too and he crossed over to country. I remember the reaction at the country music awards when beyonce performed it wasn't a warm reaction from some country artists, they were saying she wasn't welcome in country because she's pop, a country singer walked out of the show when she performed and i think that was a few years ago, Shania Twain is similar to Keith with his music, she does a similar thing, Breland is another young country artist thats good, Keith helped him get bigger than just tik- tok, Madonna, Lil Nas X jumped on the country bandwagon, Lady Gaga did it with her Joanne album which was to me better than her born this way album maybe cause she didnt have so much going on with the songs and just sang on that Joanne album and many more people i cant think of right now who have jumped on the country bandwagon but some artists actually like the genre, understand the concept of country music, the song writing, and respect it's origins, and artists before them who made country music mainstream and the artists before them who cross over . country music is very specific and not many people who are talented and successful have the emotion and right storytelling through their voice and the right ingredients to make country music, we'll see how it goes for beyonce if she's successful or not.😊😊

I think Beyonce is trolling us with the blonde wig. Act ii is Beyonce highlighting the erasure of black people in country music. Beyonce is dropping her hair care line soon. I think she will take off the Dolly Parton country wig and show her beautiful natural curls underneath. If she keeps this aesthetic... it will be disappointing. I remember hearing bell hooks speak in undergrad and her saying Beyonce enforces "white supremacist capitalist patriarchy" and thinking she was a hater😂. I guess we just need to wait and see. I seem to go against your commentary from time to time!…I don’t understand why it appears you are contradicting yourself! Yes - I agree with what you pointed out about the reasons for Beyoncé’s temporary Sarah Jane persona. So if you understand why she is doing it - there is nothing more to say about it! (IMO). If she keeps the look up after she banks her expected coins from her country white woman look - then there’s something to talk about. But not now…As long as she is looking gorgeous- it’s ok! Beyoncé knows she’s a black woman and she knows what she’s doing with this temporary transformation (as you do). 🤷‍♂️ Last-Cynthia Erivo’s “Alfie” was just ok! It’s not for me and I think it’s audience that night anything spectacular!

Black women can be fair skinned with blonde hair. Artificial Lighting can make light skinned women look shades lighter than they look in natural light. At this time in her career when she is trying to reclaim country music (on a GLOBAL scale. I know there are many black country artists. They are NOT as famous as Beyoncé) we should be supporting her. This is a very misguided point of view. The Sarah Jane reference is tacky. In that film Sarah was denying her blackness with a rage. Beyoncé has never behaved that way. The fact that people are choosing to overlook the on stage presentation and recreation aka change of appearance is not unusual. Madonna spent her entire career doing just that. It’s the same transformation with Gaga. But when Beyoncé does it there’s a supposed agenda. Which is absurd. Ariana Grande let herself go pale for her role in Wicked. Meaning, she’s been darkening herself with bronzers for years. But again, it’s just a given not some hidden agenda. All female pop stars do this. That aside. There is no denying that disco had a gay bend to it through that era. Watch any documentary about the rise and fall of disco and the final revelation is that American society burned disco records at sports stadiums (aka hyper masculine arenas). Disco was not just overtly queer but celebrated hedonism and eccentricity. All things that are perceived as contemptuous by wholesome straight society. So yes, disco was very gay and was punished.
